Default most overrated and most underated

most overrated game of all time-super mario bros. 3

when i first played it about a year ago,i was extremely excited.everybody was like SMB3 was so great but it was overrated.it was very long, and around the end it just got boring.the last koopa(Bowser)was a total joke.all the boats were jokes.SMW was a much better game.

so what do you think was the most overrated and underrated?

You are sick... Of course it will feel over-rated if you just played it a year ago because 3 sequals to it were already out.

If you would have played it when it released you would have a different opinion. This game had absolutly NO competition. You couldn't name one platformer better than that game before it was released.

now for my opinion (pllease don't bash it like I bashed yours)

Most over-rated game(s)
1. Anyhing on Dreamcast.

I'm sorry but, there were way too many DC games that were "loved" by online Sega fans that I could say I hated... like NFL 2k

The NFK2K series is the only football series to rival Madden in quality since the old Joe Montana games for Genesis. I think 2K was far better than Madden and the interface was set up perfectly, unlike Madden's often confusing and frustrating setup.

*shrugs*

Like I said, over-rated

I don't want to turn this into a Madden vs. NFL 2k thread, but I can't see how any hardcore football gamer can call NFL 2k better.

Sonic games came after... name a platformer to come out before it that is better.

I thought that Space Station: Silicon Valley was pretty underrated. I've never really heard many people talking about it even though it got pretty good reviews and such. And I don't know know if it's underrated or not, but I don't see people talking about Super-Punchout! much and that game was sweet...

I played Football (American, not the fake kind that gives the name a bad image ) for 10 years and NFL2K is a FAR better series than Madden. The AI was much better. Your opponents actually LEARNED as the game progressed. When you played on Pro, you could beat them deep once, but wait until the next time you try that same play. There is be someone all over your receiver. NFL2K made you actually strategize, instead of merely find a handful of plays that ALWAYS work and just using them.

Plus you could actually run the ball in NFL2K, which is a plsu for any hardcore football fan.

I've played football about 7 years now, and uh NFL 2k on the field isn't realistic.

Sure sure, I play NFL 2k2 on the hardest level, and all I need is to create a QB that can run... then it's game over. To me, this is a HUGE flaw... and no, the AI never figures out what happend to them the last 30 times they gave away 10+ yare carrys.

You can't run the ball in Madden? If not, either you never played HB, or you didn't try. NFL 2k2 has nice fun running, and nice fake running on the same hand.

NFL 2k2 compared to Madden on the field is an arcade game. The AI is MUCH weaker in NFL 2k2, and the play selection is even weaker. And what's with the opponents having the ability to see your plays????

Now, this is just on field, off the field Madden is better in every aspect, not as an opinion, as a fact. Better franchise, better stats, more options, more everything.

-EDIT-

Oh yeah, and in 2003, Madden's online play will be better than NFL 2k2's... can you say "ability to update rosters online"?

I prefer NFL2K...I just think its better...anyways, the most under-rated game is maybe Grim Fandango, most over-rated might be Super Mario World...*shrugs*

Well, I don't care if sombody thinks it's better because they like it's arcade gameplay better... but objectively the better game is the one that mirrors real life the most and has more/better options.

Uh huh. Maybe we don't care if you think Madden is better, cause we all know NFL 2K is

And I'd take a game of NFL Blitz over Madden. Hardly feel the better game is the one which mirrors real life closest. If I wanted reality, I'd go outside and play football.

*looks at scores*

At least paid opinions agree with me

How did I know you were going to say that

NFL Blitz isn't a SIMULATION football game, so the realistic rules don't apply... Madden and NFL 2k are bost SIMULATION football games, meaning they are trying to SIMULATE real NFL football
