Unhappy You think you'll be graduating soon? ROFL. You're going to jail, seriously

http://www.stoppoliceware.org/

Go to that website, sign the petition. There's a law in the process of being passed that would install policeware on your system, basically allowing them to monitor your entire HD. Got illegal music? You're going to jail. Minors looking at porn? There will be plenty of big, fat, sweaty men in jail ready to get you up the ass. And well, say goodbye to warez.

Of course, we can disable the software, but that's illegal. And well, so is using Linux if they don't incorporate the software.

So if it gets passed, you are all going to jail, all of you except me, cause I'm special

..... That's messed up...... They might as well try to get security camera type things installed in every house to make sure nobody has any drugs or does anything illegal

But the petition is probably what's gonna get the people.... you sign it, so they think you have something to hide

"The law would force all new personal computers and digital home entertainment devices sold in the United States to have government-approved "policeware" built-in."

Whew, it's a good thing I won't be getting a new computer for like 25 years.... if ever...

This is why I live in Canada.

Well, it isn't... but yeah. This is quite stupid if you ask me. Like DH said, they might as well monitor every single move that we make.

Online petitions rarely do anything, but since the chances of this actually passing are extremely slim, I don't care.

I doubt it'll be passed..it would take too much man power...just think of it..they might have to create a special police unit just for this law.

Oh well...I wonder if they will fly over to Barbados to arrest me when I remove that stupid software.

There's no way in hell this bill is going to be passed. Think about it, 95% of minors(male) look at porn, and about 50% of people with the internet download music, so how are they going to find 30,000,000 jail cells to place these "criminals?" 5 years in prison, and $500,000 sounds like a consequence for grand theft auto, not dling mp3 files. The economy would slow down, the armed forces would almost be non-existant, and anarchy would spread. I wouldn't worry too much about this bill getting passed, because it isn't.

This bill won't pass, but the idea will remain in the air. And one like it will.

Isn't that unconstituional?

I mean basically it gives you no freedom whatsoever. I mean bugging everyone's computer takes away their absolute rights of the freedom of speech, petiion, assemby and protect from unlawful searches (Which is what this bill would fall into)
