I didn't expect that announcement at all! I think everybody figured Nintendo is too busy with TWW HD.

Looks good, although it needs some tweaking. Some people have pointed out it looks like some cheap flash game. I think it's partly because you don't see Link's face when you play.

I actually think A Link to the Past is slightly over-rated.

Best 2d Zelda? Yea, probably. But I don't think it really even compares to the greatness of OOT. But im sure most will disagree with that.

I replayed it in the last weeks. It's still a great game, but I find it hard to compare with other Zeldas. It's not better than OoT, but it's still in the top 4 of Zeldas.

Anyway, lately I've been thinking "We already have a sequel to ALttP, it's called LA!"... That game is a pretty darn good sequel, let's see how this new game fares.

I say it all the time

It's my least favorite 3D Zelda.

Not counting Phantom Hourglass.

Yet it clearly defined not only every zelda since it was released, but also a large majority of just 3D games made after it... which you have played, and enjoyed, yet you think it's overrated?

Even though 75% of the content of every new zelda game since OoT has just been rehashed puzzles and shit from OoT?

You crazy. I welcome a sequel to LttP. It gives me a reason to actually own a 3DS. Well that and Pokemon XY and the inevitable Z.

Yeah, OoT is definitely not overrated. Maybe if you go back and play it right now and compare it to current games, there are some things it could have done better?

But you really have to compare it to other games of it's time. And honestly it has held up extremely well. The only complaint I have about that game is that the "side quests" mostly reward you with rupees, and there's not really anything to buy with them. Every think else is pretty masterful.

You can inspire things.. and better products.. and still be considered overrated

Hey, it's my thoughts.. and I'll always feel that way

I just don't know. I could totally understand if you played OOT for the first time 10 years after its release, then I could understand how you might be underwhelmed.

But if you played OOT around launch I don't see how you could say it was over-rated. I just really don't get that at all. It was just so much better than everything else for its time.

OOT of time is not over-rated. It schooled everyone on how to do things right in an adventure game. And neither is Alttp, it perfected everything for a top-down Zelda game and it was 100% awesome. Nothing on that game felt like filler or uninspired. And every time I replayed it, it was pretty much as awesome as the first time (speaking of which, I have to make time for another replay of the game). The story line was awesome and it is the definitive Zelda IMO. The only game that deserves more praise than these two games (IMO) is Super Mario 64 because it got 3D done right, with analog.
