Club Nintendo/Xbox Live Rewards
I was wondering how many folks took advantage of these two programs?
Essentially, giving back to gamers who purchase games and take surveys. For Xbox Live Rewards, you mostly get a % back on all purchases you make on XBL. Usually need to cross a certain threshold for it to be deposited into your account.. and on some rare occurrences MS has been known to make a blunder and deposit a lot of points.
Club Nintendo is essentially, a dual program. It allows you to register your games with Nintendo, but you also are awarded coins, which you can turn in for little knick knacks and the likes. And depending on how much coins you earn in a Nintendo year, you may qualify for a free prize. This year, it was a Super Mario pin set, the year before a Statue.
I just wanted to highlight both because I think its a step in the right direction, where you award gamers for buying your game new, but nothing is loss if you buy used from the experience.

Re: Club Nintendo/Xbox Live Rewards
So far I've used the Nintendo Stars (as they're called here) for a set of Zelda/Mairo notebooks, a set of Mario/Luigi sunshades and Wii points so I could buy some WiiWare stuff.
Oh once I got a Monster Hunter 3 figure for free! Just for registring. I sold it for a decent price.

Just as a head's up, they updated today, and now you can also use coins to buy eShop/WiiWare games.
Picked up Fluidity as well as the Zelda 25th Anniversary poster set.

Re: Club Nintendo/Xbox Live Rewards
I'm really tempted to get that poster set, but I also want to make sure I have enough coins to get that gold nunchuck if they bring it over.
This is what I'm talking about, BTW.

Yea, I use it. I qualified for Platnium this year, and I just received the Mario Pin Set yesterday. Kinda cool, if completley useless.

Re: Club Nintendo/Xbox Live Rewards
My Skyward Sword copy will forever remain unopened so I'm not going to be able to cash in those points... kinda sad.
Edit: I didn't know Xbox had something similar.

Re: Club Nintendo/Xbox Live Rewards
I've got TONS of points back on Xbox. Especially around Halo: Reach map pack time, they had tons of deals. Believe I essentially got the map pack for half off, and got some avatar props for free.

I guess its my dislike of map packs for the most part...
Sadly, the month I earned the most back was the month my account was hacked and someone spent all my points.

Re: Club Nintendo/Xbox Live Rewards
I never knew about Xbox Live Rewards, haha. Thanks for the info.
I feel as though my nine (almost ten?) years of account ownership should be worth something ...
