Just hope my electricity/internet stays up long enough to watch Doctor Who.
As long as you have your priorities straight.
Though fairly certain we aren't supposed to be hit until tonight and Doctor Who airs in the afternoon.
As for KG, yeah pretty much in the safe zone according to the chart the city sent. Just stocked up on the usual in case we lose power for any period of time.
Read a few years back that new York is one of the most susceptible cities to major damage from a hurricane, and people tend to laugh when I tell them like yeah right!
What is the danger zone? Are some areas including skyscraper basements expected to flood?

The danger zones seem to be the areas that are most along the coast/water lines, which makes sense.
As you get further in land, less chance of severe damage from rain or wind.
That's due to them shutting down the transit system (which I don't believe has ever happened before) more than anything else. Right now you can hear (and see when the camera shifts its view) a small soccer game going on with a cheering crowd around it.
Well glad to hear that you're all feeling comfy. How is it? I am hearing some people saying it has been overblown, but New York isn't really built to handle all that water, even if it is from a category 1. Let us know how it goes, live feedback in the form of pictures and videos would be ideal.
Just stepped outside. It's windy (actually feels kind of nice) but hardly even drizzling. Think shall go to bed and hopefully wake up to utter mayhem....or at least umbrella worthy weather.
EDIT: Ended up going for a walk. Didn't get far. Winds started to get scary...and then died off again right before I got back home. Might go out again. Tried taking pics but were too shaky, plus my neighborhood is pretty boring. Hardly any trees either to see the wind.

Not so bad here in Delaware. We got 7 inches of rain in a day, which is pretty much a month's worth here, but it's sunny now. Lots of people didn't get so lucky though. Lots of trees down and power outages and flooding. We never lost power, though I prepared. Basically, we got kinda lucky.

Yeah, I don't get the people who were like this was a weak hurricane or whatever.
It might have been but some folks died, some are without powers, parts of even NYC were flooded. There's light property damage across the city.
We're just lucky it didn't cause wide spread damage
