Default A Political Cartoon

Here is a political cartoon regarding recent issues of the world. What feelings and reactions does it evoke within you?

I am going to be completely honest here and say that I very rarely understand political cartoons. I usually have to have them explained to me.

Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death

And as we sit free and well, Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath

C'mon now amen, amen, amen

It's sad how many people in the middle east think that they can get what they want through violence when it can be done just as easily in a peaceful way. All suicide bombing is going to do is kill innocent lives. Has it done anything other than that?

Also, isn't the islamic faith about peace? Then why do they think they're doing Allah's will by killing innocent people and themselves? This isn't their god's will, but the will of resentful and evil people that use their religion as an excuse to get their way.

Explanation: King and Ghandi were non-violent people. They settled all of their problems with non-violence, and now in the middle east, they have suicide bombers that think they are the solution to all of this.

The Palestinians aren't using violence to solve their problems.
That's a common misconception.

They blowing themselves up just for the sake of killing Israelis.

There are a lot of pshychotic, twisted people in this world that use religion as an excuse to murder.

They're taught in school, by their parents, and by their government that by killing Israelies/Jews, they go straight to heaven, where 72 beautiful virgins will be waiting for them to have unlimited sex, while drinking fine wines and lying on green cushions.

It's really disgusting how Yasser Arafat and the PA is brainwashing the Palestinian civilians to believe all this crap.

They both solved their problems, somewhat at least in the end.

But they both got their ass shot, and Ghandi got a ton of his followers killed.

That's not part of the moral gekko, but yes, you do have a point

And hey, these suicide bombers end up dead too, I mean they are blowing themselves up to kill others.

Well then it's simple. Do you want to die, or die and take 20 enemies down with you?

If you really want to solve a problem the latter won't work, because the enemy will become resentful and won't give in to your demands.

If Martin Luther King led African Americans to burn the houses of white people down, do you think the government would have listened? The government would most likely put all these people in jail and it would have been another 20 years before African Americans were treated equally. Do you think the British with superiority over the Indians would have given them independance if Gandhi had just led riots?

What King wanted would have happened regardless of him, someone else would have. It would have happened if he tried other ways or someone tried other ways. It all would have played out the same. It just depends on when and how it would happen.

Well, if you're superior in military strength you can just wipe them out, but I was referring to groups that weren't nearly as powerful as their counter-parts. Palestine has no chance of wiping out Isreal, a country that is not just powerful, but has the strongest military in the world supporting it.

These suicide bombings have done nothing, except take the lives of innocent citizens and made Isreal and the rest of the world feel that Palestine is in the wrong. So in actuality these people have taken their lives, and dozens of others for no point. That is unless they really do get 75 virgins that'll listen to their every request. Hehe... first of all, how do they find 75 women for each man? And second of all, that area is so perverted that I don't think there's even 1 virgin around. For the record, no where in the Karan does it say that you'll get 75 virgins for killing the enemy. That was a made up lie by corrupt leaders that know the truth and would never become a suicide bomber themselves.
