Default Excitebike: World Rally

Seems like WiiWare is getting a sequel to Excitebike with Wifi an custom track editor.

It is the generation of Excite.

The fake enthusiasm of those two was hilarious.

The 2D gameplay doesn't excite me.

Some more details from IGN,

Quote:
First, you can now wheelie over slower moving opponents. Simply lift your front wheel right before you ram into the other racer and you'll bounce over them unharmed. More importantly is the "attack" mentioned above: you can still knock out opponents by ramming your rear tire into their front one, but the action also has a secondary function: it cools a hot engine. So if you find yourself just about to overheat, not only can you run your vehicle over the hot spots on the track to bring the temperature down, but you can also take out other riders and get a freshly cooled engine.

One of the big design elements of the NES game was the ability to create your own courses. That returns in Excitebike: World Rally. The interface is a near spot-on recreation of the NES version's creator tool: simply work your way down a flat course, plopping pieces down (they're marked with letters of the alphabet). You can test the track as you're building to make sure what you're creating isn't a bad drive. Yes, you can save the tracks this time, and what's more, you can send them over the Internet using the game's WiiConnect 24-based message system.

Speaking of online, Excitebike World Circuit also has multiplayer using the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service where you can race random players or anyone on your friend's list if you've entered in their Excitebike friend code. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to play online in my hands-on as the game is still unreleased and the servers didn't seem to be working properly. I'm looking forward to checking this mode out: as fun as Excitebike is in single player, it's a racing game…and racers tend to be more fun against human opponents.

Who the hell are those overly-chipper WASPs correspondents for?

I almost didn't believe the video was real because they were so douchey.
