To be fair, it has always been an aspect of the franchise.
Why would they change it now?
I know remakes, but people bought Fire Red and Leaf Green so.

Re: Pokemon Gold/Silver Remakes
Why not Sun Gold and Moon Silver?
Anyway, we own the original G/S. Great games, but I'll never buy any of those PKMN remakes for full price.

You don't understand how hard it is to get the Gold and Silver pogeymans do you? At least legitimate copies.
I'm ready for this. I do hope they give me the shiny gyrados for free again too.

Re: Pokemon Gold/Silver Remakes
I guess I don't understand. Then again, I already have them on G/S.
And if you breed those pkmn for me, we're all happy.

But you can't get all the pogeymans from G/S onto D/P. IT'S LAME!
Well I think you can, but it's a complicated process that requires too much money.

Re: Pokemon Gold/Silver Remakes
I don't think it's possible.
What I meant was: I already collected them all on G/S and B/R. I don't feel the need to catch them all a 2nd time.
But I understand other people want to. And G/S was just a good game.

Re: Pokemon Gold/Silver Remakes
For me I am happy that they are making these games but what I will say is, it's about damn time. I played through both gold and silver a number of times but my personal favourite was Crystal so this makes me wonder if I should hold out that little bit longer for a Crystal remake.
One thing I thought was great about the origional's was the results you could get from breeding. I once bred a Butterfree with a Venomoth and after the egg hatched I ended up with a Yellow Caterpie that evolved into a Yellow Metapod which in turn evolved into a Pink Butterfree. I have not had great success in breeding different pokemon like this with Diamond and Pearl for example. Overall my point is I hope this feature remains unchanged (unless it's expanded upon) in these re-releases.
Should I wait for a Crystal remake though
EDIT: *POSSIBLE SPOILER*
I just remembered you get to visit the region from the red, blue, green, series, or first series of games after you win the pokemon league. 16 gyms man
*END POSSIBLE SPOILER*
