Where is everyone working this summer?
I realize a lot of us already have permanent jobs (feel free to post those too), but for our university students, where is everyone working (or not) this summer?
I am interning at a District Attorney's Office. Wahoo! I was also going to work part-time again at the hospital I interned at last year, but then they instituted a hiring-free, and that fell through.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
Boy how I missed jobs with end dates.
I recently got a new job as a Case Manager in a Community Residence. It is similar to what I do now, but higher up on the food chain, and more interactions with clients and their outside environment I hope.
The only thing I dread is working above people, as much as I can project it, I loathe telling people what to do.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
I need a job. I have had no luck finding work, the two companies I did IT work for have downsized and are not hiring. I don't feel like going back to retail, although I'm sure Jewel would take me back....
I have 4-weeks off, and then I start an 8-week summer school session where I will be commuting 2+ hours every day to Chicago for summer school. I figure that will make up for not working in the long run. Plus I need a vacation...I worked all last summer and with the hour-long commute both ways I ended up spending 11-12 hours on "work time" everyday. It sucked ass.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
At this point I won't have a summer job, though I would like to pick up some odd jobs if they are available. Otherwise my band is looking for a space we can turn into our own studio so we can record our next record. That should take up a lot of time presuming we find a space relatively soon.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
I have an internship at PennDOT this summer, which is the Department of Transportation for Pennsylvania. I'll be working outside as a field inspector for road construction. I'll be under an engineer, watching how everything works, and making sure that the construction workers are doing things right. I get to just drive to the site everyday, and hopefully it'll be close to my house. I also get paid back some amount of money per mile, which is usually more than how much gas will cost me, but that amount back also covers for general maintenance on my car too. I start on May 18th, and I'll be done at the middle/end of August when I have to go back to Pitt for my last semester.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
Well as you may well know I recently moved to London with the intention of seeking employment as the work situation is dire, to say the least, on the Isle Of Wight, where I come from.
I recently started a part time educational course in mathematics. Seems weird having left school 7 odd years ago. But thats a free course that I can boost my qualifications on my Curriculum Vitae (Resumé) with.
I just got a job for the NHS testing their computer systems, programmes etc, nothing to complex, just pissing about with it, answering some questions about it, play testing it basically and getting paid about £30 for a couple of hours work. Not too bad. Trouble is its only gonna happen like, once or twice a month. As in they call me and say, hey dude, can you come here and do this today?
So the search for work continues.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
For the first three weeks of summer, I'll be in Paris studying Medieval French History...this is in June and July and all our assignments are not due until, oh, September! So, I'll be getting my Wine and steeeze on instead throughout the trip. Anyone been before?
As for work, I'll be the Assistent to the Executive Director of the UCLA Anderson School Management's Entertainment and Media Management Institute. Been working there for the past year or so, love the job, and my summer duties will include helping out with the running of the Sports and Entertainment Management Summer Institutes, getting guests speakers, and chaperoning Students on Studio and Stadium tours. Being paid peanuts, but the job has too many perks to complain.
Oh, and for a week in August I'll be working as a camp counselor at UCLA Unicamp again. It's probably the best thing I've done in college, and if you want some more info on it, or want to help me fund raise, check this link out. My counselor name is Jumper btw.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
Since I graduate on Saturday I have been looking for jobs everywhere, and I keep having to set my sights lower and lower and lower...its sad actually...
I just took a job today working for a call center where I will be basically a tech support guy for SHARP. 9.25 an hour to stary, paid vacation, benefits...it sucks but I guess its better than nothing. Sure as hell not what Id imagined I would be doing as a college graduate...

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
Drawin' me own comic this month. Shall see if hear back from a couple places applied to for longer projects. If not then going right into drawing issue three of that comic I keep getting sucked back in to do. I guess the second one sold well enough for there to be a third.
So short answer is: from home, as always.

Re: Where is everyone working this summer?
Likely working where I am now...Inbound CSR for a major Mortgage company (not specifying who in case they are watching ). Though on a related note, I was hired on Full Time today so I won't have to be through the temp agency I was with anymore as of next week. So I'm extremely happy for it. Benefits through temp place were just bleh but tolerable.
Not an ideal position, but it'll be good while in College starting this fall (hopefully). Pretty flexible which I'll need.
