You know what's awesome
..iPhone!
This thing is amazing and I find new ways to tick off Earl every day. Just yesterday I was able to take a picture in my iphone-MSN window of the game I was playing in my living room at the moment. Needless to say, it ticked Earl off incredibly.
And you know what? It reminds me so much of glitch from Reboot. Just look at this writeup:
Quote:
Glitch is a Key Tool from the Super Computer. It is black and gray in color with a gold tool bar. Glitch is capable of becoming most objects, can project energy shields, and be used as a communication device. It can also hear Bob from great distances and can interface with other software, such as a system paint program.
Like all key tools, Glitch runs on stored energy and its battery must be recharged.

Seriously.. let me rewrite this and I'll let you be the judge.

iPhone is a Key Tool from the Apple Computer. It is black and gray in color with a silver apple logo on the back. iPhone is capable of becoming most objects, can project Apple-hater fields, and be used as a communication device. It can also hear Phil from great distances and can interface with other software, such as a iTunes, Apple TV. It can also mount itself wirelessly as a drive on any other device.
Like all key tools, iPhone runs on stored energy and its battery must be recharged.

Seriously.

Re: You know what's awesome
Yeah I downloaded Spore: Origins which is awesome. Good for 10 minutes here and there. I love how you can take pictures of things and set them as creature textures.
I also downloaded some free ones too. I've heard X-plane and Cro-Mag Rally are awesome too.

Re: You know what's awesome
I love my iPhone. I'm not a hater on other phones, I just really appreciate all the various uses I find for my iPhone. I just got Jaadu VNC on it and totally enraged my friend when I emailed a document from my home pc to him. So cool.
As far as games, Dyne covered most of the bases. I'm also quite a fan of Enigmo, which I downloaded last week while it was on sale. It's like Lemmings on steroids.

Re: You know what's awesome
Wow, Jaadu VNC looks amazing! I might have to consider that. I'm on a 6-gig-a-month plan so 3G memory usage is definitely not an issue. I've had it for almost a week and I've only clocked 250mb - when my daily allowance is literally 200 a day.

Limited data? Weird Canadians.
Anyway, iPhone rules. iPhone 2.1 finally fixed a lot of the problems 2.0 should've never introduced.

Not really that weird. You have a certain allotment of data usage per month, depending on your plan. You can go over that amount, they just gouge you on the price. Isn't that pretty standard?

Not in the US. It's common, but not for the iPhone. All iPhone plans have unlimited data.

I envy you guys. The monthly rate is just too expensive for me.
My parents just got me the 24" iMac for school though and I'm lovin' all 3.06 GHz of it.
And I got a free iPod Touch and printer with Apple's special back-to-school promotion.
The Touch is almost as cool as iPhone. I'm still waiting for Apple to release a native iChat app though.

Really? Weird. Yeah, the plans were 400mb per month, 1000, 3gig, and 6gig, which was something like $100. However, there was a special plan on for 6gig for $30 a month so I grabbed the hell out of that. There's absolutely no way I'd use over 6 gigs.
How much is it per month for the cheapest unlimited iPhone? Also, it covers 3G/EDGE, right?

Re: You know what's awesome
It's finally coming to Turkey. I wonder how much they'll charge for it.. If they don't overcharge much (well, if it's close to what Apple charges in the US, I'm ok), I might consider buying one, I want it too much..
I bought a Touch about half a year ago, which doesn't help at all.

The only thing stopping me from getting an iphone is the monthly bill.

Well, let me figure this out. On the original iPhone, the basic plan was 450 minutes, unlimited data and 200 text messages, and it broke down into $45 for the minutes, $5 for the text messages (normal AT&T prices), so unlimited Edge was $10 per month making it cost $60 per month.
With the 3G, the lowest price (same minutes) is now $70 per month, so unlimited 3G would be $20 per month, but they also were sneaky and dropped the text messages from the basic plan, so in reality, the unlimited 3G is now $25 a month, and yes, you get unlimited 3G and Edge in the US.
That's one of the biggest reasons why I'm not upgrading. The cost of ownership for the phone is $15 more a month than what I'm paying now. No thanks.
Oh, and did they drop the accessories from the iPhone? Apple has this habit of introducing products will tons of accessories, and as a means of lowering the price, they take them all away. The original came with the dock, dock cable, headphones, universal dock adapter, and USB charger. I have this feeling they dropped the dock.

Re: You know what's awesome
Yep, no dock. Just a (recently recalled) ultracompact power-outlet adapter, USB cable, and headphone/microphone combo clicker, which is so sweet.
And 6 gigs is pretty much unlimited, unless you set up a P2P server on your iPhone. So the monthly prices are essentially the same.

Re: You know what's awesome
The limited data plan is why iPhone was so late to release in Canada...Apple wanted every service provider to have an unlimited data plan. Some of the crap I had to know about for a marketing presentation a while back.
