Maximo for $10!?!?
Should i get it? its been previously played (block buster) but its in perfect condition.
Its just 10 bucks, but it is worth getting? I mean, i don't want a game unless its really good.
Edit: Crap!! IGN gave it a 9.2... bye guys! When i come back, i'll be $10 short.

I didn't like it... I rented it and hated it... there was a letter I read in some magazine of some guy who didn't agree with the magazine's review of Maximo (and they gave it a really good score) and apparently they had gotten a good many other people saying the same thing... but they said they "stand by their review" or something...
So for 10 bucks I guess it'd be worth it... seems like one of those things you either love or hate....

now when you say better, do you mean system specs or games? Cuz when it comes to games, nothing comes close to PS2 at the moment, or will anytime soon

I wouldnt pay anything more than 20 bucks for the game. It's hard, and Maximo is too slow and sucks at jumping. Hopefully Maximo 2 will be better.

Yeah, and it's his opinion that NGC is better
BTW
Grand Theft Auto 3
Metal Gear Solid 2
Silent Hill 2
Final Fantasy X
ICO
Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance
Onimusha
Soul Reaver 2
Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland (I own it and I like it although I hear it's not as good as past HM games, it was the first one in the series that I played)
Umm... and there's more I just can't think of them ... Devil May Cry... I hear Ace Combat 4 is good... Most people like Twisted Metal Black, although I don't...

Both. I will have ED, Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Star Fox,RE,.......the list keeps going...and going...and going...and going...What popular franchises does the PS2 have that are coming out this year? I cant think of much(and I'm talking about the one's that will kick A$$)

It won't be getting much this year... That's because it got a ton of it's big games last year, therefore instead of having to wait for those good games to trickle out like with NGC, you can go to the store and buy them
Which is why I have a PS2 and an NGC... there are games coming out for NGC that I couldn't miss out on... and if I didn't have a PS2 right now, I'd be going CRRRRRAAAAAAAZAY!
The one big one I can think of: Onimusha 2...
Also Devil May Cry 2 might be done in time for a LATE release... and what about that GTA3 Miami thing? Like a GTA3 add-on... or is that really just GTA4 and people thought it was seperate? Anyways... There are also some non-exclusives like Timesplitters 2 and Medal of Honor Frontline...
But as for ones that will kick crazy mondo ass, I can't think of much... but like I said, it got a huge wave of those last year so now developers are working on new things that will come out maybe 2003 that will hopefully be just as good...
It's just like in 2003 with NGC... if NGC gets zelda, mario, metroid, etc etc etc in 2002, do you expect them to show up again in 2003? No...
But the thing is, Nintendo is better at like planning things out... a game here, a game there, and it keeps the flow of good games coming, but at a slower pace... whereas with PS2 it seems like you get a big wave of good games and then a dry spell... where only a few good games are released... Then again, that's what it seems like NGC is all about
Yep...

i got the game and played for like a minute. The atmosphere is great, and i already like it. Not sure about gameplay yet, but i'll check that later. I don't have time to play it.
Maybe next week or after summer begins.

Heh, yeah, those are 'good' games. *laughing*
Well, okay, maybe most of them are okay, but Zelda? Star Fox? Metroid could be a little sketchy... And what the hell is going on with Mario?
The PS2 doesn't need specific exclusive franchises to have a better catalogue of games. Like the ones DeathsHand rattled off... Those are just naming a few, and they're (for the most part) cool games. Then think of all the other ones still coming out.
As of right now, the PlayStation's games are simply untouchable, and chances are things will stay that way for some time to come -- regardless of whether Sony has exclusive franchises or not. Just because a series is exclusive doesn't certify that it will be even half decent.
I hardly consider calling Mario, Zelda, and Star Fox (At least from where they stand right now) games worth drooling over.

Well, thats all a matter of opinion and taste. Some may be turned off by GTA3's over the top violence and enjoy more playful, cartoony games like Mario and Zelda. So in their case, those games are worth drooling over.
Now myself, I prefer games more along the lines of GTA3 and Halo. But even though I don't understand why people still like Mario (DON'T START), I don't think they shouldn't be able to say that they are anticipating it heavily or be laughed at, because A LOT of people are anticipating these games. And when I say A LOT, I mean A LOT

I like both sides. I enjoy violent games like RE and GTA3. But I also like games that are "cartoony". Sometimes, I need a refresher from the violence(I'm like that) and enjoy a nice "calmer" type game, ie mario, zelda, etc..

Gamecube has a bunch of continuations of good game series (upcoming)
PS2 has sooo many more original, new games to choose from, like ICO, Jak and Daxter, Onimusha, Devil May Cry, Ratchet and Clank, The Mark of Kri etc. plus great series like Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo, Metal Gear Solid, and Silent Hill.
