Default Free Radical Saved - TimeSplitters Appreciation

Recently posted on 1UP , developer Free Radical (or what's left of it) has been purchased by Crytek, the developer of Crysis.

Though Free Radical stumbled last year with the release of their underwhelming PS3 exclusive Haze... *cough*
I have to admit that the idea of a current gen Timesplitters totally piques my interest.

Any other Timesplitters fans out there?

...

Regardless, the games were a lot of fun. They were unique, filled with quirky characters and odd multiplayer game modes; while keeping players guessing throughout bizarre plot lines... Timesplitters pulled off something special.

That being said, I can't help but wonder if this uniqueness alone is enough for a series that has seemingly fallen through the cracks to standout against massive titles the likes of: Killzone, Halo, CoD, or GoW?

Seriously... multiplayer monkey-shootin' action? Have you no soul?
This game has to be made.

Remember playing Timesplitters with Combine. We would have 1 "leader" character with his army of monkeys, and we would fight to the death.

Timesplitters was awesome and I hope that they still release 4 if they are saved.

I didn't care for 3 too much, but 2 was awesome.

And some weird characters.

Timesplitters online would be fantastic... FANTASTIC!

Two was my favorite, the characters were crazy, I always enjoyed playing as the stone golem. Fighting a bunch of monkeys as that guy made for fun times.

Glad to see there are fans of the games still though, all we can do is hope.

Timesplitters was an awesome game. I used to play it all the time with a few different people, spending hours making highly retarded maps, and then murdering random things in said maps.

We had TS2 for the Cube. Never really got into it. I think I beat the singleplayer, most challenges. We never did very much multiplayer, mostly because 3 of my old time GE/PD friends didn't have Cubes but PS2s. Without TS2.

I loved 2, played it almost as much as I played Perfect Dark. 3 was probably better, but I had it for PS2 so never got to play with more than 2 players.

Online would be great. Hope it happens..
