Good trailer. Looks like as much of an change as Resident Evil 1 Resident Evil 2. Online co-op was already announced; disappointed that wasn't shown off. Chris looks slightly less like he's smuggling grapefruits, but he now dragon-punches. Explosions looked pretty. Lots of enemies could make things tense. Parasites are pretty ace.
lol at the addition of black female sidekick and prominence of white zombies to assuage criticism. I hope they try to explain the latter as infected relief workers or something. So out of place.
never even noticed there were "white" zombies the first time I saw the trailer, I guess maybe I find it difficult to care about what color a zombie is. White people in Africa do exist, by the way, as hard as that might be to believe.
Pretty sick of seeing every topic on RE5 turn into some bullshit racism debate. Game looks good, an upgrade on the controls from RE4 is hopefully in order.

No argument. However, the way that this trailer suddenly made sure to include them in nearly every shot after the last two teasers felt reactionary; "see look guys, you don't just shoot black people! It's okay! No really, look, we even have a minority support character. She's black, its okay for her to shoot black people!"
I didn't see random black fellows chilling in Spain for RE4, but they certainly exist there as well.
I don't find it surprising that there are white people in it. I find it disappointing that they changed the black:white ratio simply to satisfy some ignorant, insecure very small minority of people (and by minority I don't mean black people, I mean the small number of people that are bothered by the games setting). I shot down hordes of Spaniards in RE4. Why weren't they whining then? The fact is that in a Resident Evil game it's always made abundantly clear that the people you're killing are already victims of the Umbrella corporation. If some crazy's running at me with a Scythe I'm going to defend myself regardless of what his color is.
Anyway, it looks like they caved and if so I'm disappointed in them.
I bought RE4 Wii with big expectations (mainly because it got game of the year from a lot of sites and mags) but it somehow bored me, I don't know why. I think I don't like the save point system - the game makes me play large chunks of it in one sitting. I'm not a person who has that much time on his hands. Which is probably why I like shorter games. Or at least, games that can be played in short bursts.
Anyway, I was excited about this when I first heard about it, but after finishing RE4, I'm not so sure..
RE5 might be the reason why I pick up a next-gen console. That game looks like win. I just hope they ditch the "possessed" villagers crap, or whatever was going on in RE4. Zombies are zombies.
The last thing I remember about Resident Evil, Wesker had all sorts of viruses and potential test subjects, and got his hand on Las Plagas, presumably to tinker with it and make some sort of GT-Virus Alexia Ashford Virus Plagas Fajitas...
So I'd say he's most obviously behind this new version of the Las Plagas, seeing as how he's been behind just about everything in the series ever since they discovered that gamers really like bad guys who wear dark sunglasses and black clothes...
