Guitar Hero III
I can't believe it. My X360 wireless button must be broken.
I bought GHIII and tried to synch it up but it didn't work. I was hopeful that the guitar was at fault, took it back and the guy tested it out and worked immediately.
Now I'm in the process of taking my x360 back for repairs. It's still under the 12 month warranty, but god damn. I took such good care of it, stupid crap hardware. If you detach the face you will see how poorly that console is built. Flimsy springs and buttons will only guarantee problems down the track.
It's such a good console tho This and my Wii bring me so much happiness, now i'm only half happy

Re: Guitar Hero III
As cool a console as the 360 is, it doesnt seem like very high quality hardware. I just got mine pretty recently, and compared to any console I've ever owned, holy damn is it loud. Hard to notice when playing Halo or Guitar Hero, but it can get distracting. My roommate has a PS3 and its eerily quiet at all times.

Re: Guitar Hero III
It can't be something as stupid as you forgetting to turn the guitar on, can it?

A fan has nothing to do with the hardware. Actually, the more fans needed to maintain operating temperature, usually means the hardware has a few more balls.
That being said, I hate PCs. They make way too much noise and to compensate, they started making the cases clear and putting blue lights on the stupid thing. Now it's loud, and a light show! Retarded.
But cut them some slack, it came out in 2005, which means this hardware existed long before then. That's quite a powerful little box for back then. 3.2ghz Tri-core processor. You paid like $400 for the entire box, be happy.

Did you press both sync buttons at the same time?

You shouldn't have to. Once you press the sync button on the x360 a green light should light up around the power button, mine does not. You just need to turn the wireless on the guitar, followed by the console. I have tried everything. Got it ready to take back today.

If you put your PC together halfway decent you will barely hear it.
Unfortunately that doesn't help with pre-built PCs from stores.

Re: Guitar Hero III
If you got a 360 and are on live you can get "dream on" for free but only for a limited time!
