Europe gets 'free' Wii Points!

All Europeans have been using the star system for the last couple of years. You receive 250 stars every Nintendo (first or second party) game and even some third party games. You also get 5 stars for every day you log in on www.nintendo-europe.com

I just received an e-mail which adds some extra rules, like the loss of your points 24 months after you bought the game. But the biggest news is this:

Binnenkort zul je echter in de gelegenheid zijn om je sterren in de sterrencatalogus in te ruilen voor Wii Points als je je Wii-winkelaccount hebt verbonden met je lidmaatschap van de Nintendo of Europe-website.

This loosely translates: Soon you will be able to switch your starts for Wii points if you have coupled your Wii store account to your Nintendo Europe website account.

I've just read something from a fan, he says that you get 1 point for every 4 stars. I have 8k stars, so that's €20..... 4 NES games. Could have been better.
Oh, expect this somewhere in July, that's when we get the new privacy policy.

My brother and me have been saving a lot of stars, the only thing we bought with them was a black GameCube cap. Whenever there's something in the star store, it's either something crappy, something too expensive, or something that I missed because I'm too late.

This sounds cool. I never used any of my Gamecube stars. I must have about 10000 of the buggers.

And yes, I reckon they may well do this in oz too as you also use the PAL format. This is why the game releases are usually simultanious with Europe. Although you did get Banjo Tooie about a month before us back in the N64 days. I had to get an import, of an English game made in England by English people. Strange. So my copy travelled to Australia and back lol. Although the cartridge was probably manufactured in China like most of Nintendo's stuff.

Anyway I'll shut up now... I am confusing myself.
