Default 360 on a pc monitor ?

anyone here tried running the 360 on a widescreen LCD computer monitor?

im just curious of how it works with a 16:10 ratio monitor instead of the normal 16:9 of an hdtv.

You know what was awesome about CRTs, no static resolution.

Anyway, i personally don't know anyone with a 16:10 monitor and a 360...but i found this:

and this: http://digg.com/gaming_news/Beautifu...ades_interface

and, most importantly, this:

the picture is 1080i though and i'm really too lazy to read any deeper into it, but you should be able to run the 360 on a LCD that sports a 16:10 resolution. and since 16:10 has a higher verticle resolution anyway, wouldn't it just letterbox it?

btw, i like your sig, we'll have to play tfc2 when it comes out

I'm using my 360 on my PC monitor right now...until I'm done moving anyways.

My monitor is a widescreen LCD though, and it looks pretty stinking good. When you plug in a VGA cable it gives you like 10 screen size options, including 4:3 ratios. Make sure you set your screen to "non-widescreen" also.

But yeah, works great, looks great.

well thats just it, i WANT it widescreen. i have a widescreen. its just not the tv stanard 16:9 ratio, its a hair taller up and down to a 16:10.

from what i've read (thanks for the links killer) obviously the 360 doesnt have a 16:10 ratio resolution as one of its selections.. so the image would be a hair stretched up and down, not really that noticable tho..

on mine, when i play a game that doesnt support widescreen, its stretched, i dont have an option to change it, but there is an otpion for manual screen adjust thats darked out. im thinkin that might be because im using DVI (digital) and if i used a VGA plug that option might become selectable, in which case i could scale it to the right resolution. i'll have to test that and plug the monitor in with a VGA plug to my computer.

i know its going to look great. HDTV is just high resolution anyway, so pc monitor at the right resolution could match it just fine.

just been tryin to do a little research on it... because if NHL 07 gets good reviews next month, i'll probably be picking up a 360.
