Suicidal Enemies
So I'm playing Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, the remake of the Kirby's Adventure for GBA. At one point I have to gain fire power, drop down a long shaft, light a fuse, quickly fly back up, run up a hill, destroy a bomb block, fall down another shaft, and fall into the cannon before the fuse goes off.
Kirby games are notorious for being easy but this one bit is annoying the hell out of me since I'm playing on the mode where I have half a life bar. I'll get it in a couple more tries but I have become all too aware during my attempts just how easily the enemies throw their lives away in an endeavor to injure Kirby. I'm bombarded by bronto burts, waddledees and doos just throwing themselves at me.
It would be one thing if they have a set path like most enemies in Mario games where it's up to the player to memorize their pattern and avoid them. Or if they homed in to attack you but still retained their life. But no. They home in and hurl their fleshy bodies into Kirby, killing themselves in the process. I fine this quite disturbing even with the insane respawning (have to assume the respawns are unique individuals.)
Now I'm wondering what other games contain suicidal enemies; ones that kill themselves in an attempt to injure the player. In Galaga there are plenty of kamikaze attacks but that makes a bit more sense since it's a life for a life and not a life for 1/6 of an energy bar. Any other games come to mind in which the enemies willingly kill themselves to cause you harm?
