1/1 is the odds you're betting with an actual bookie. You bet 100, you win 100 back so if you had 100 to start, you now have 200.

If it doesn't work that way, then it's just retarded.

Also, it says: Remember to keep the event outcomes short and to the point, e.g. 'Germany to win', 'Owen to score first'. Odds should be of the form '10 to 1' or '2 to 5' for odds-on. '10 to 1' means win 10 for every 1 bet. '2 to 5' means win 2 for every 5 bet. Stakes are also returned in the event of a winning bet.

This will be an interesting game. If anything, it'll be the Gametavern upset of the week if the Bengals win, seeing as how most people are in favor of Pittsburgh.
