FF: advent children japan movie theater
Quote:
Admission to the movie screenings will not require any tickets, but, like most things that are free, there's a catch. Entrance is by invitation only, and only Final Fantasy VII fans that have already registered to the official "Shinra Company" online fan club hosted at Square Enix's site will be invited.
As expected, the theatrical screening of Advent Children will be a limited run in major cities in Japan. The premiere screening will take place on September 8 in Tokyo's Virgin Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills, which also happens to be the theater where Square Enix held its Final Fantasy XII debut presentation in late 2003. The film's creators will also be on hand to speak at the showing.
Following the premiere, Square Enix will show Advent Children at three cities from September 10 to 16: Virgin Toho Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, Toho Cinemas Nagoya Bay City in Nagoya, and Toho Cinemas Nijou in Kyoto. The movie will be shown once per day beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the three locations.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
Apparently the DVD will be out in November over here in the US. I already reserved my copy just to be like "Yeah, I'm totally sweet and reserved my copy of Advent Children."

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
Here, check out a review.
What the heck. Check out a review by a non-fan.
I personally am not going to see this movie unless I get it for free. But then again, I didn't think Final Fantasy VII was very good.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
Sounds like the movie was made specifically for the fans of the game... Which maybe might have been a good decision...
Anybody who's beaten the game knows what the intro to the movie is referring to (or is from)... Just reading it made me smile... Well, part of that was from the "non-fan's" befuddlement...
I'm still planning on snatching up a copy of it when it's released...

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
I'll probably download it also. Not something I would buy for myself, but to watch to see if the hype was worth it or not
*Fellow Gametavern'ers, this post I have made may or may not contain comments that seem biased or unbiased. Due to my past, you have a narrowsided view of me. If you can't look beyond the fact I consider the other consoles equally, then the loss is on you.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
Eeerm....wouldn't Advent Children torrents be totally in Japanese since thus far it hasn't gotten an American release?
I'm just saying. Otherwise, I might go grab it because even though I'm perfectly happy not seeing it...why not give it a try when I'm bored?

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
apparently it has no subtitles but japanese ones, so if you actually want to understand the storyline, dont bother downloading it.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
Hey guys, eeeeeeh. Let's just pretend and say I'm not currently downloading this and I haven't found full english subtitles.
And I'm not at 25% and I'm not excited about watching this at all!
Just thought I wouldn't let you know.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
you guys can probably import it via Yesasia.com, DVD releases in Japan usually have one thing in common with US DVD's..... foreign language subtitles.
Even if it's not a US DVD, you can play it in a normal DVD player, as I've imported many DVD's. The DVD comes with Japanese Audio w/ English, Spanish, French subtitle tracks..
Importing this can go up to $70.00USD so I dunno, I'd wait for the us release, but if you REALLY wanna see this Yesasia.com may have a japanese DVD copy .. it comes w/ a ENG sub track.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
I saw the torrent. Got excited. Asked myself why. Didn't know. Didn't download. The hype almost made me waste valuable harddrive space.

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
Well, I watched it.
I wasn't the biggest fan of FF7. Hell, I literally fell asleep at most parts and never got past the first disc. I tried not to hold that against this movie. Overall, it's a good film, and I cried at the end. I like the whole Aeris/Cloud thing, ok. The battles were ok, aside from the fact they were too jerky and bullet-timed to make any sense.
The whole movie looked cool. Some of the storyline didn't make sense, mainly because I never beat FF7, but it's was graspable.
I suppose I recommend it.
And hell, 700 megs isn't THAT much on hard drives any more. I only have a 20-gig laptop with 1.5 gigs free and I still downloaded it.

You weren't even a fan of FF7, yet you took the time to download and watch the movie? *scratches head*

Re: FF: advent children japan movie theater
I clearly stated I wasn't the biggest fan, which, under normal reading comprehension, implies I was a fan nonetheless, but not a blind all-devoting fan that you see so much.
I also stated that I liked the whole Cloud-Aeris thing. It was just a downfall that FF7 was so blasting long that I never finished it.
