eBay...
I just started poking about eBay recently, and I was wondering how many of you buy stuff off of eBay. Are y'all regular eBay shopper peoples, or just a thing or two from time to time?
And how have your experiences been in dealing with people over eBay? I just ordered my first eBay piece of crap last week and it's apparently in the mail on the way over, so I've no such opinions yet.
Well, I have noticed there's an awful damn lot of stuff on there (sometimes even nice new stuff) way cheaper than in the stores, but yeah... So how about you?
How you likin' that eBay shiznit?

Re: eBay...
You can buy some rare stuff on it, for sure.
I usually use it as a reference when I'm buying stuff in real life. "Suikoden runs for $X amount on eBay.. ya'know!"
And I saw two Turbo-Grafx-16's for $80 each. Look on eBay.. whoa! Ripoff store. I won't go there very much anymore.

Re: eBay...
I've used eBay a couple times. It's been a good experience so far. I bought two DVDs and a Domo-Kun doll. All three items were shipped promptly. I used PayPal to pay for the items which allows the seller to receive their money faster and then they can ship your product sooner. The only annoying thing about eBay are the other bidders. Trying to win an item and get the price down simaltaneosly can be hard. The trick is to wait until the last five minutes before the auction ends. Then you make a bid to see if the other bidder(s) have set proxy bidding (where you set a maximum bid amount and eBay automatically raises it by 50 cents I think every time someone else bids). If they have, you just gotta wait it out until the last ten seconds and then bid and hope yours was the last bid counted. If they haven't set proxy bidding do the same thing, wait until the last few seconds then hit your bid.

Re: eBay...
I'm not really an avid eBay buyer but I look at eBay all the time for computer stuff since I'm upgrading a few things in the next week or 2.
The only thing I've bought from eBay so far has been a mobo and it was from a company that was credible and the price was good.
I would use eBay more for buying things I can't find anywhere else or for great bargains, but I haven't since I only got a job recently and my first paycheck isn't until Friday...then I will hope to use it more often.

Re: eBay...
I just recently bought a video card for jeepnut off of there and so far it has been good. haven't gotten it yet. my room mate bought an ibook and got a great deal. but ebay can be dangerous.... i bid on a game without looking at the options and noticed that it was going for a lot cheaper on another auction, i'm kicking myself for that one

Re: eBay...
Simply put, I don't trust anything off of eBay. A couple of my friends have gotten ripped off majorly. That's enough for me not to use it.

Re: eBay...
i dont buy online mainly because i dont have a credit card to purchase things, and if i did have one what things would i buy, believe me credit cards and college students just DONT MIX sometimes. that and i dont trust the people on e-bay ever since some hackers pulled that stunt on e-bay last year, where they like hacked into and and made an exact replica of the confirm your credit card number page and stole lots of peoples numbers.... thats horrible, damn those nerdy hackers...

Re: eBay...
I buy off of e-bay all the time but when I do it I use my credit card and I also make sure to have insurance on something that I buy and I also check the sellers rating before I buy anything.

Re: eBay...
I've bought a thing or two... you just have to have an eye for trustable people. Take, for example, the fact that I'd sell something to Crono, but probably wouldn't buy something from Ominub. I mean, err... ¦¬Þ j/k
Yes, the rating system is very useful. *hugs his Albert Odyssey* Worth every penny.

Re: eBay...
I look at stuff on ebay a bunch, but I've never bought anything. My brother got semi-screwed once when he ordered 3 video tapes containing all the episodes of the sketch comedy show "The State". 2 out of the 3 videos had horrible quality. My brother got the seller to give back half the money, but it still sucked.

Re: eBay...
I've only bought stuff with ebay. Never sold.
So far it's been a good experience. I bought a new snowboard at the beginning of the school year. Perfect condition and I got the seller to fool customs by saying it was used and a gift and stuff.
Anway, I have a question. I put my max bid in as 200 bucks. The top bid at the time was 150 (american). Well, it automatically went all the way up to 200. I was under the impression that it would climb in small increments...unless the other guy bidding set his at 195 or something. Did I do it wrong?

No, you didnt do it wrong. The thing is, you enter you max bid, and it bids as low as it can to keep you in the lead. Obviously, the guy who was winning at the time had set his max bid to something like $199, so when you entered $200, it went up to as low as it could and still be winning.
Ive only bought video games off of ebay, and I sold one once. Ive never had any trouble.
Im planning on purchasing the third season of buffy on dvd in a few days, off of ebay.
