Re: NDS Emulation
That's pretty kickass.
I wonder if it could get advanced enough to emulate GBA games.

Re: NDS Emulation
If the flashcard is affordable enough, and more emulators hit, I'll get one just for that. But until then, my eyes are still set on a PSP sometime

Re: NDS Emulation
without reading it, are thoes just running off of the blank carts that were avaliable for GBA?
and eventually, im not sure if it is yet, it will be able to run GB and NES perfectly. i hope it can get more, but my feelings are that GBA/SNES are just going to push it too hard for what its powerful enough to handle.
what will be neat tho, is if they can start getting all thoes little touch screen pocket pc games running on it. thoes would be fun.
As for wifi, theres no doubt in my mind that both PSP and NDS will be able to run thier emulators with the wifi and be able to play each other with seperate Ds's or over the internet. PC emu's do that and it is quite fun when you get to play someone online on old nes games and such. hehe. (even more fun are playing N64 games online)

Re: NDS Emulation
Will the WiFi be enough to run it though? I'd think you'd need the storage of the blank carts to hold the games, or is the internal memory enough to hold the roms and emulators?

Re: NDS Emulation
oh, we're talkin bout 2 differnet things then. I still havnt read anything on this yet so im not sure what they're getting the emu's to run on, I had thought they'd just use the blank GBA cart and plug it into the GBA slot on the DS.
and it needs some type of memory to hold all the files. it wont be running stuff over the wifi, at least not well.
what i was refering to tho, is 2 people playing together on an emu over wifi. like i have a psp, and my friend has a psp, we load up a NES game, hit 2 players and play each other over the wifi.

Re: NDS Emulation
Okay, I understand now. Yes, these emus run on blank GBA cartridges right now, and they are advancing quite quickly. The SNES version now does not require WiFi-Me to work, and now has sound! Apparently it runs smoother than the PSP version (pretty much 100% framerate), but the colors look worse (probably because of the higher quality PSP screen). Very exciting times!

Re: NDS Emulation
Gotta wonder, Will someone be able to be smart enough to make a memory card adapter, one that looks like a GBA cart, yet has a small slot for a memory stick, or SD card, etc.
i'd actually expect this soon,
someones already made an adapter for PSP that plugs into the memory stick slot, and lets you plug different kinds of memory cards in (cheaper ones then the memory sticks) and even a USB hard drive for it. Damn a HD would be sweet if it didnt suck up so much power, lol. putting an ipod in Hard drive mode kills the batter very quickly. of course if you were able to plug the psp into the ipod, the ipod would run on its own battery. hmm. lol
Anywho, adapters for DS, this is where they need to focus. that thing needs more memory space.
also be interesting to see if they can run the snes emu at 100%, they've got my hopes up. dont want to be dissapointed tho, hehe. right now they got the speed from what you say, however thats not running at 100%, psp lets you knock out features like transparency, and color, and can get it running at full speed. but to be 100% it has to have everything on and run at full speed.
wonder when they get these emu's running well on both handhelds that if they can trick them into connecting together over wifi, by thinking thier the same emu. prolly not. but would be interesting.

Re: NDS Emulation
I've just been reading on different emulation boards. It runs SMW at 100% (which isn't anything special - the game has been out on GBA for a LONG time now), but it's a start. It is having lots of compatability issues it seems, but I'm sure as time goes by it'll improve.
I'm really tempted to get a flash cart now...

Re: NDS Emulation
wonder if they could use something like this. compact flash type adapter.
http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?cat...ducts_id=3983&
says for GBA movie player, but i wonder if they could get around that and use its storage space for DS.
