Chapter 2-The Mission

Well it's about time for chapter two to be put up. It's been almost a month since the last chapter and I thought I took long enough with this one. This is a chapter that begins to show pieces of the plot. So read on....

Mario arrived at the castle and put Yoshi into the small little house. Mario entered the front door and was greeted by Helper Toad.
"Hello Mario," said Helper Toad. Mario returned the greeting politely and saw by the look on Helper Toad's face that it was an urgent matter. He quickly opened the door and was greeted by other Toad.
This Toad escorted Mario to the Princess. He was taken up the stairs, passed the big door, which was once locked off by the power of the stars, and down the hall into the master bedroom. He entered the room and he saw the light pink dress and the long golden hair; he knew it was Peach. He noticed that Peach stood by the window staring into nothingness.
"He has arrived," announced the Toad which escorted Mario into the room.
The Princess turned around and had a huge smile on her face, this was a smile that could light up a kingdom, but her eyes told another story. Mario saw that the Princess' eyes were full of uncertainty, nervousness, and grief.
The Princess moved from the window and sat on the huge chair that was positioned in the middle of room near the upper wall. She was dressed in her trademark pink dress and had the best white gloves in the kingdom. She gestured Mario to come to her with the ever-delicate movements of her fingers.
Mario moved closer to the Princess and sat in a chair next to the Princess.
"I see Twink was able to deliver my message," Princess said smiling.
Princess Peach's words started drifting off into space. Mario believed that she had just forgot he was there. Then he knew she was thinking about something, and it was something important. He knew that the Princess never liked to seem worried in front of any of her subjects, and he noticed that her subjects knew it too. He noticed that the Toads in the room had already left. He knew that Princess was worried, but she had no problem showing it in front of Mario, who had saved her many times before and had helped her in troubled times. He also knew that she had no problem showing concern in front of him since he was not one of her subjects. Mario didn't live in the Mushroom Kingdom but he knew he might as well since he was always there making sure it was peaceful.
The Princess finally turned towards Mario and began to speak. "Mario! I don't know what to do. I'm very confused. I wish my parents were here; they would have some idea as to what to do! It's just so hard for me!" Princess said at once not giving Mario time to digest.
Mario looked stunned and said, "Princess could you tell me what is wrong?"
"You know I've always preferred you to call me Peach. It makes it seems like you are one of my friends and not one of my subjects. I have very few friends being the Princess."
"Sorry Peach but now can you tell me what is wrong?"
"Well Mario, the Kingdoms are at it again. They are fighting over the territory we gained when you defeated Bowser. I still believe we should leave it alone, but all the others wants to divide it up and get rid of any knowledge of the Koopa Kingdom."
"The kingdoms start this up every so often so what is the real problem this time?"
"I believe they may start war on each other this time, and I fear there is nothing in my powers I could to stop them if they do. I'm worried for the safety of my subjects!"
"But why would they start war this time. They have never known what to do with that territory," Mario questioned.
"I don't know; it seems as if their minds had been poisoned by someone. This is why I need your help Mario. I need you to talk to them and find out what is going on and see if we can avoid war."
"Peach, I will do anything to keep peace in this Mushroom Kingdom. So I will go and try and talk to the rulers tomorrow. I am tired from my trip to the Star Road. Which reminds me," Mario said as he reached into his pockets, "here's the report." Mario handed Peach the star report and got off his seat. "Well I got to get some rest"
"Thank you Mario. I hope that you are able to get to the bottom of this."
With that, Mario said good bye and left the room. Mario knew the castle inside out. He had learned about the structure of the castle the time he had to save the Princess from the spell of the castle and Bowser. He had loved the stone walls and those pictures but after that adventure he hoped to never get to knew the castle that well again. He exited the castle door and got Yoshi. He told them they were on their way home. Yoshi hurried; he was tired and needed rest himself. They exited the castle grounds and were off.

Mario and Yoshi jumped out of the pipe. They turned around and saw a small little house. It wasn't as big or as glorious as the Princess' castle but it was home. The house was no more than a story high and from the outside seemed very humble. It wasn't really decorated and only had a very small garden. The garden was used to grow food for Yoshi and Loshu and was a relaxing hobby for both Mario and Luigi.
Yoshi entered the small house that Mario and Luigi had built for him. Mario moved towards the door and heard a loud rumbling inside. He saw the curtains swing back and forth and he knew what was up. He opened the door to see Luigi playing with his vacuum.
Luigi was very similar to Mario. He had the long mustache that his family was famous for and was a bit taller than his brother. Luigi also dressed like Mario but instead of his brother's trademark red and blue, he was dressed in green and blue. His hat also featured an "L" instead of his brother "M".
"You still have that? I thought E. Gadd took it back," questioned Mario.
"Yes he took back the 3000 this is the PolterGust 4000, and he also upgraded my GameBoy Horror! I am now able to get to my mansion and E.Gadd's lab from anywhere in the Kingdom," Luigi said like a child playing with his new toy.
"Mama Mia. "
"Do you want to see it in action?" replied Luigi in haste to show off his new toy.
"Not really but it's not like I have a choice," replied Mario.
Luigi turned on the vacuum, and just gently turned the power up. He knew if he turned it to high it might damage the windows and house. So Luigi started off by trying to suck off the cloth over the table. He didn't really want to pull it off since he would have to clean it up afterwards. Mario gave his brother a false applaud since he wanted this demostration over as quickly as possible. Luigi then used his vacuum on the curtain. To which Mario gave another round of applause. Finally, Luigi turned the vacuum towards the bed room to see if he could pull the sheets off of his bed. This is when it all fall apart. The vacuum began to drag the green cladded plumber across the room. It dragged him into his room and then back into the kitchen. Luigi was able to finally regain control and turned it off. Mario sat there and begun to laugh at his brother. He shrugged it all off, and knew it was time to get down to business.
"Are you up for an adventure?" Mario asked.
"Ever since the haunted mansion I am ready for anything! Why do you ask?" Luigi replied.
"Well the Princess, I mean Peach, asked me to visit the other kingdoms since she fears they may declare war, and I believe it would be tough on me and Yoshi if we visited all 7 in one day. So I figured we could split the work, if it's ok with you?"
"Mario, you know that I am up for anything. All I have to do is get good ol' Loshu ready."
"I really don't know why you just can't call it Yoshi. I mean yours is red and mine is green. We won't get them confused."
"If I want to call it Loshu, then I will call it Loshu, and besides, how will they know which one we are calling? Anyway which kingdoms will you take?."
"I will take Ocean Side, Forever Forest, and Dry Dry Ruins. That leaves you with Goomba Village, Lava Lava Land, and Flower Fields. We will meet up at Giant World."
"Ok Mario and we will leave in the morning?" asked Luigi.
"Yes we will. Mama Mia! Remember when we first met Yoshi in the Dinosaur World?" Mario shouted.
"Yes, yes I do. Why?"
"Well you remember the fear of castles that Yoshi had. Remember he would never go inside any of them. Well I think it will be best if we did this alone and by foot." Mario said suggestively.
"Ok," Luigi agreed. "Well I'm off to bed. Goodnight." Luigi put down his vacuum, exited the room and went up to his own.
Mario watched as he walked off and sat at the table thinking. He would have to talk to these people and see if he could avoid war. He knew some of them personally like Queen Bowette who had helped him recover the 7 Stars from Bowser's henchmen in his last adventure. He wasn't sure about some of them, like King BoomBoom and King WildSun. He would have to worry about it in the morning. He sat there and just looked around. He got up from the table and slowly looked around. He moaned and walked towards his room. He turned off the light for he knew it was gonna be a long day.
