Firefox Problem
Ok, Firefox has been telling me to upgrade for a few weeks now, and I finally did it. After I upgraded, I continued using firefox and everything was all right.
But I left my computer for a couple hours, and when I came back, firefox wouldn't work. When I click the icon, the firefox browser opens, but there is no webpage where my home page should be. And when I click on the buttons at the top, including "file", "tools", "edit", and the buttons such as "refresh" or "bookmarks", the arrow gets an hourglass like it's trying to do something, but nothing ever happens. No menu's will open or anything.
I have tried restarting my computer, reinstalling, redownloading and reinstalling, and nothing fixes it. Like I said, when I quite using firefox I just left my computer. I didn't download or do anything in that time period that would have given me a virus. I just ate supper.
And now I'm stuck with IE.

Re: Firefox Problem
try uninstalling it, then deleting its folder. Then deleting its settings folder in....
C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Mozilla

Thanks Null, I'll try that.
And Gekko...I don't want to pay that much money to fix my Firefox.

i dont think it would fix your firefox, thats just a quick way of getting rid of a ton of cash
i hear people who rob banks, and have to ditch the money before the cops find em do that.
"cops are onto us, Where do we dump all this money?! theres gotta be millions here!"
"lets order an apple"
"BRILLIANT!"
"we dont have enough to order one "

Lol
That solution worked btw. But I lost all of my plugins, extensions, themes, and half my bookmarks.
Since none of my menu's would work, I couldn't back them up. I tried copying and pasting the "bookmarks.html" file, but that didn't work. *sigh*. I'm not blaming you btw. It's just an unfortunate circumstance.
It really pisses me off because I had some important things bookmarked that I wanted to check into later, and I'll probably never remember what they were. Like I had pages marked that had my favorite quotes, philosophies, artists, and art tutorials, game websites, etc.

Re: Firefox Problem
I think its the bookmarks.bak file
and it should still be in the recycle bin, go look for it. in the firefox/profiles/default folder
you could also try retrieving the extentions folder. but i've never tried that dunno if it would work

Re: Firefox Problem
replace it over the one in your current folder.
should be in profiles/default
just find the one on the new install, and copy it over it.
