TimeSplitters:Future Perfect
There is really no need for the poll, I just wanted to put it up there for the heck of it.
This post is all about TimeSplitters: Future Perfect. Am I the only one that looking forward to this game? I really do love TimeSplitters 2. I played that game almost as much as Madden. If anybody had any idea how much I played Madden, you would understand that I'm actually a pathic 30 year old man wasting my life in video games. And now with TS:FP so close I can taste it, I want this game even more. I love TS game so much.
Mind you guys, I'm not trying to put down good FPS, aka Halo 2, but I feel that you can do so much more with this game, then alot of other FPS for consoles. Choosing weapons, having bots, even had fun making my own map. With Halo 2, if you don't have XboxLive, 2 controllers, or a friend with a TV, Xbox, and Halo 2. Single player is where the game stops. Not for TS:FP.
I've heard a lot of complaints that people don't like the graphics of the TS games. Which is cool, to each their own. I guess that is one of the reasons I love this game. I get to be a character that is from the 70's, bell bottoms and all. Chasing a monkey, or some snowman, or even a half naked women There is just more personality in this game. Even if it's more cartoony then most. Maybe it's just me, but I think that is one of the biggest reasons I like this game. No sense of realism in it. You are trying to shoot a Lion walking up right, and to dodge the shots, he actually jumps head first and does a tuck and roll. How cool is that. One of the bots runs pasts you, does a double check and slides to catch it's grip and chases you down. Yeah, awesome.
With TS:FP being online finally, I will switch from Halo 2, to TS. No questions asked. Sure I will jump on every once in a while when Crash begs me to bet him down, or have his girlfriend embarrass me. Free Radical and EA are talking about how when you make a map, you can save it to an EA server. And people will be able to share the maps with all TS owners. To what extent is still up in the air, but that is just an awesome idea. Talk about replay value.
I'm really pumped to see what kind of weapons they have in this one. TS:2, was a killing machine with Tommy Gun (x2). That always had to be in the line up when I played the game. Something I noticed on one of the videos I was watching was that there was a Melee Attack. Awesome. And in TS:FP, you are able to be driving vehicles. What I'm hoping is that the maps are big enough for all the choas that is going to be going on. PURE CHOAS.
Sorry guys about being all over the place with this thread, I' just really pumped about this game. I'm hoping some other people are too. March is just too far away.

Re: TimeSplitters:Future Perfect
I chose Perfect Dark just because for its time, it was a Console FPS with a TON of options (some that aren't even used in todays shooters still). Goldeneye is a very close second.
As for the new TimeSplitters, I'll wait for reviews and whatnot to see if it will pique my interest or not.
Oops, forgot to mention that someone is making a Perfect Dark mod for Half Life 2. Can't wait to get to try that out

Re: TimeSplitters:Future Perfect
Forgot to put my vote down... Console wise, it would have to Perfect Dark. I was think about Metroid up there, but technically it's not a "FPS"

Re: TimeSplitters:Future Perfect
Halo.....I put about 40,000 hours into its single player.
Perfect Dark would be the easy runner-up, although it lacked revolution. The cyclone gun was so damn awesome!
I have played the Time Splitters multiplayer, and it is a lot of fun. I have yet to invest in the game itself, because I don't have the time or budget to get it. Maybe I'll rent the new one and see how it is.

Re: TimeSplitters:Future Perfect
Time Splitters reminds me of Goldeneye.
But I have too many good memories with Goldeneye. Like, every week we would all hang out and play it. It was so fun.
Perfect Dark was ok. I liked it more for its 1p though.
Turok was fun, I cant remember which Turok I liked the most....honestly, all of them I would play if I had them...but too many people say they suck, But I dont know why. The Cerebral Bore will own you.
But yeah, bottom line. Goldeneye is best, I think, on that list.

Re: TimeSplitters:Future Perfect
I was looking forward to FP, but I don't know why I lost interest. I might still buy it, I'm not sure... Looks promising.
My vote goes to Perfect Dark. The atmosphere, the weapons, the options, and even though I never could get my friends to play it, the multiplayer. It was a very balanced game. Just classic...

Goldeneye 007 for me...too many good memories of multiplayer.
Friends would come over after school about 3 times a week for a good 2 hour session.

You know, that is why I got into the whole TS:2 thing in the first place. I remember playing a Demo on it for the Xbox and told my friend that it had that feel of GoldenEye. So I thought I would go ahead and invest in it. I didn't get it when first came out, I don't actually remember when I first got it. But it wasn't for the full price. But I'm glad I did. When I went through the single player missions, and was pleased by what I played. Then, tried they minigames, that really got me hooked. There was one mission where you had to end up killing like 50+ hand characters. That was a hard mission. But I just had to beat it. Next thing I knew, I got a couple of my other buddies playing, trying to beat that level. Then came multiplayer, why is it every time you play, there has to be somebody that picks that freakin' monkey. Small, quick, hard to kill monkey. Even put Halo down for a little bit to play it. I'm sure we would have played it more, but I owned it GC and there was no chance for any kind of system link. Just had a lot of fun playing it. I guess that is why I'm so pumped about this one. Plus being online, yeah that is a big plus for me. Since where I'm living now, don't have a lot of friends that play video games. But can always find people online.
I never got the original TS. Just something about it, never really wanted to try it. To this day, still haven't played it. I know people who have it, so I might give it a shot. Might is the key word there.
Oh... I totally forgot about Turok. Loved that game, that one and Turok 2. After that, they just got stupid. Didn't like Rage Wars, hated 3, and hated the latest one that is out. What is sad is that when a company gets me hooked on a game, I will buy the sequels just because I loved the ones before it... no matter what the reviews say. Turok 3 & 4 where just HUGE disappointments. But have to give props to the original one and two.

What do you mean? Lacked revolution? That game was so awesome. Had so much too it. Not just in single player either. Explain what would have made it a revolution as far as a console FPS?
And Seth, you need to get an Xbox and FP so you can get online. Oh, imagine all the maps that are going to be created for this game.
