Suikoden V Hopes
What are your hopes in Suikoden V?
I hope...
-The main character has a weird weapon like all the others... not just two swords like in Suikoden IV.
-They do it in 2D just because the game was experienced SO MUCH BETTER in 2D. Plus... the Stars of Destiny are easier to spot when they are all colorful and anime like in 2D form. Just because it's on PS2 doesn't mean it has to be 3D...
-The story hooks me from the start...
Also... I wanna see a Suikoden Side Story game... like FFX-2... like a true sequel...
But in any case... does any HOPE for anything in Suikoden V?

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
What I hope is that the next game involves more of Harmonia and takes place relatively close to Suikoden 1 and 2 (time wise). Instead of these random islands which we've never even heard about. I want to know more about Harmonia and the Circle Rune.
And I always thought a side story game would be cool, too.

The story of Yuber and Pesmerga would interest me quite a lot.

Yeah no kidding... instead of putting the game in a whole new area, they need to explain a lot of the back stories that we already know of. That's what I meant when I said I want to know more about Harmonia, Hikusaak, and the Circle Rune rather than taking place in these new countries.

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
Well it's not a whole new area.... if you aren't far into the game then you don't know.
But one of the kingdoms aside from Gaien and Kooluk, is SCARLET MOON EMPIRE... and that is the area where Gregminster is the capital.
also... Suikoden IV is a prequel to Suikoden 1... thats why...
but my hopes still remain..
Yuber and Pesmerga would be an EXCELLENT side story game....
choose to play as one of them through a Suikoden like story and choose the Hero's side when he tries to recruit you as 108 Stars or betray him... AWESOME!!
But it's kinda weird... I read somewhere and this is the order of the games
Suikoden IV prequel to Suikoden
Suikoden II prequel to Suikoden, sequel to Suikoden IV
Suikoden III prequel to Suikoden, sequel to Suikoden II
it's a weird storyline connection... but I feel Suikoden V will bring it all together... and i want it to bring all the hero's together...

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
Damn, I had no idea the Scarlet Moon Empire was in SIV... not that far yet. Oh well.
Still though, I'd like to see more of Harmonia.
And that order is wrong (except for IV being a prequel to I)... Suikoden II takes place after Suikoden... and Suikoden III takes place after Suikoden II... you can tell because of the characters and what they say/do.

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
Dylan, this is a formal request for Suikoden IV after you beat it.
I tend to like games that th emajority doesnt like.
Like FFX, and FFX-2, Love 'em both.
And Dylan, I am also requesting Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless mind to be brought to school tomorry in A block (or I'll pick it up tonight) because me and Dani have plans of watching it.
That is all.
Pee Ess: Why are people saying this game was so bad? Have you not learned to not expect the highest right before a game comes out? Expect it will be horrible, then at least you can either be right, or pleasantly surprised.

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
My hopes are for an older main hero... explanation about Pesmerga/Yuber, Georg Prime (YES), Crowly/Mazus, maybe a little more on Clive (even though I got all the cool story in II)...
Lessee... if Suikoden V is the last of the series, I want each of the 27 true runes to be defined. I want it to be on more than one disc... I want the majority of the 108 stars to be useful, so that you have to choose based on which characters you like, not based on who does the highest damage.
Some places I'd like to see are Harmonia, the Queendom of Falena (especially when Georg did his deed), and maybe the Badlands.
I want Jeane and Viki explained... I want the Sindar's importance unveiled. I'd like the return of large parties... and the return of S, M, and L range attacks. I like the cooking game from 2. I like having a badass strategist like Shu (and Mathiu, to a lesser extent).
I'd like to have Suikogaidens ported over...
I'd like to see the Blue Moon Village (vampires, I believe).
Specifically for Suikoden V? I don't want many forced-parties like in the first Suikoden (you HAD to bring two S's into the final... even though I like Flik and Viktor). I liked the skill system of Suikoden III. I'd like the world map to actually be the world! I'd like to see more true runes in action (similar to three, but not the basic elements). The stars of destiny should not be too difficult to find (I mean... it's destiny, right?) Magic combination should be more comprehensive...
I mainly want the future Suikoden game(s) to tie up loose ends and explain why history seems to repeat itself and the origin of the true runes and the stars.

Suikoden II takes place after the first Suikoden, no doubt. It is seen in character relations, the age of characters, and story line in relation to McDohl and the "Toran Republic." Likewise, Suikoden III takes place after II due to the age of characters (Lilly, Futch, Tuta...).

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
How do you explain the ability to recruit Master McDohl in Suikoden II? When he is a little kid?

He's not a little kid. And when you recruit him in Suikoden II he already has the Soul Eater Rune... which he did not obtain until Ted gave it to him in Suikoden 1.

Re: Suikoden V Hopes
But mostly, I want Suikoden V to be 2D again and to have 6 member fights... If it's 2D the PS2 would definitely be able to handle 6 member fights with amazing magic effects and attacks. 2D was so much better for a game like this.... including spotting the stars of destiny. I mean as I keep playing The stars in IV look like regular people, and I seem to talk to everyone in the village so I don't miss one.
Also in V, I want all the hero's to come together of the previous ones and face an undeniable terror which is Leknaat.... I've always thought she would be the last boss in all of this... I dunno..
