Local News Guy

So, when I was working today I served my local news anchorman a souvenir refill of a Diet/Vanilla Coke mix. Lance West to be exact. Now, this is nothing to anybody here, but I've been watching him on Channel Four since I've been old enough to actually pay attention to the news. He's the guy who's always been on the TV. Sort of a semi-celebrity.

Anyway, I didn't say anything to him when he was there. I actually wasn't sure it was him until he talked (I still haven't figured out if he really talks like an anchorman normally or if he was just acting out his "persona"); I also didn't want to ruin his happy time at Frontier City or anything by pointing out the obvious to him ("Hey, you're the news guy!" "Wow! Really? I am? Neat!") Anyway, he left and Ashley walked up to the front to do something or another. I excitedly said, "That was the news guy!" (not quite so obvious when the other person may not have recognized him) and she was acting enthusiastic, too.

She thought he was the weather man (he's not) and we were talking about that ("That was the weather man!" "No! It wasn't!") when this other guy ordered something (and obviously heard us talking). He went out and handed Lance West, news anchor, some stuff and they walked off in their little group. Kind of ruined the whole "Nope, don't know you" thing I had going on.

Anyway, I thought it was neat. Thought to share.

I dont see news people as local celebraties...Well, its hard to say really, all they do is read a teleprompter, now, im not saying thats hard, or easy, im just saying that shouldnt signafy celebraty status.

There is this weathergirl here for one channel ( i forget which one) shes hot on TV, but super hot in real life.

I saw her at Stanley Park one time, and i was all "........". Meaning speechless.

Shes stuck up though. Super stuck up. She hands out pictures of herself at every chance she can get, just to get exposure to move p toa wider news station and get more coverage.

I've encountered new casters in real life too once or twice. One time my mom and I got interviewed regarding what we thought about having soldiers in Iraq. To make a short story long, my mom's clip was shown but mine wasn't.

Anyway, seeing them in real life is a enriching experience and I just hope that you were able to draw as much from it as I was able too.
