I remember playing the game way back on the NES. Was not the best way to play but I never got a chance to try PC version since it was DOS only and never tried it on Win98 or less. But an unofficial remake of it (in 256 colors which looks a TON better then the original).
Haven't had a chance to play it yet but I will be downloading it.
And also, The New Adventures of Zak McKracken was remade also. Have to get it too since I never played it.

First Impressions: The guys did a real good job remaking it. Still has the feel of the original but updated graphics wise. The one thing I don't like is how they remade the son. His chin is way too big.
Someone not too long ago posted a time attack of Maniac Mansion. They say in the beginning that they used some editing tools but it shows them beating it pretty quick (even though some parts were going too fast to be on the NES). But I got a good laugh from seeing them beat it fast
I actually played all the way through that remake a number of weeks ago. Good times. Some scripting problems at the end where you can do things that you're not supposed to be able to. But it's not hindering in any way. Very good remake.
I can give gameplay solutions to any part of the game (I think I've beaten it every possible way). So if you've got questions, PM me.
