Discussion regarding High Scores
I've been wondering it for a bit, but how about we integrate a full-on tournament and a high score database? I was thinking we could have two stickies at the top of this forum where we would have all-time high scores, and tournament scores.
I guessed that we could do these tournaments every last weekend of the month. We would take the top three scores for every game and archive them in the thread, and all scores would be deleted, and we would undergo tournament mode. Then, we would archive tournament results and go back into our month mode, and add new games and everything.
Of course, this is all up to you guys. So what do you think? It would certainly help for tournaments, because I know we'll have fun for those. And high scores are sometimes caused by luck. Only the truly skilled can maintain keeping the trophy month after month.

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
I agree, thats a good idea, it makes it more fair to everyone that way so someone doesnt control the whole highscores of that game

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
Yeah, I would like a thing where there are All Time High Scores and ones that are reset every month. More balance there so the high scorer's can keep it while others can still have a chance.
Tournaments would be cool also. Maybe we can offer some kind of reward for the 1st place winners in each thing.

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
Maybe everyone else who partook in the tourny must hand over a shiny green pip to the winner or something

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
Actually it should be a simple matter to alter the hack to display weekly scores and put a link to all-time best, the reverse of how it is now.

I was also wondering if there was an addition like that.
Eh, I just think it would spice things up if one had to hold their trophy and fight for it rather than have it sit.

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
I'd like to keep my trophy forever. And having the other Champion's retain their trophies forever makes it really frustrating for everyone else. Nothing wrong with a little anger, this place was too happy anyways. And if scores are cleared weekly, I lose the motivation to even try.

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
Monthly. Your high score would remain, but the result board would change. Your high scores are not deleted. It would be a monthly trophy. Besides, people WILL get bored eventually.

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
Since your the 'Keeper of the Arcade' I think these decisions should all be your call. I also think your rank title should be 'Keeper of the Arcade'.

Re: Discussion regarding High Scores
There is already a feature of Top 10 High Scores and Weekly High Scores: http://www.gametavern.net/forums/arc...es&name=tetris I'm sure weekly can be tweaked to monthly.
