It would be a good thing to get, but with such a ****ty battery life, it turns me off from even thinking about getting it. I can just find a laptop with a Mobility Radeon 9600 Pro and a good processor/hd and I'm set for gaming on the go.

Who CARES about the battery life?! My laptop stays plugged in the wall unless I'm flying somewhere... so that isn't an issue, unless you like to take your laptop on the city bus to play Halo or something...lol

For the price of the laptop, I could get a "frag box" and a good crt for lan parties. Battery life matters to me when I decide to get a laptop for gaming when not at home. 2-4 hours would be fine. But 1 hour just isnt sufficient.

There's a tiny either bug or something emachines/amd did on purpose(no one is for sure yet) with the 64 bit laptop. I found out on a forum that if you don't have it plugged into the wall, the processor runs at 800 mhz. But if you plug it into the wall(power outlet), it runs at the full 1.8 ghz. The workaround I saw for it was to change the power option to always on and it'll keep running at 1.8 regardless of plugged in or not (although battery life will take a larger hit)

But I've been thinking about getting the 64bit emachines laptop, but I'm waiting until they roll out the 128 meg 9600 sometime shortly I read somewhere.
