Yo Null, more questions for you ¦¬Þ
http://www.ibuypower.com/confirm/con...er-special.htm
I might purchase it. The site looks very, very reliable, and they designed the pc specifically for gaming. However, I'd be going into the purchase blind. Can you help overview the specs for me and see what needs improvement, as well as what is not necessary?
I really don't care much about cost. Doesn't mean you should suggest I buy a super computer with unnecessary components, however. This computer would be my first born, basically. I could always upgrade it later.
Check it out for me, please, and lemme know whether you feel it's a decent deal or not. If you believe it looks legit and powerful for gaming purposes (yes, yes, the old FFXI story), then I'll consider purchasing it in about a month and a half.

Hmmm...well it depends if your going to upgrade any of the things, or if your going to buy it as is. Because if you did upgrade any of the things via the drop down bars, it wont show up when we click the link. I got my computer from here just a few months ago, and ive been totally satisfied so far, if you have any questions or anything for me feel free to talk to me on AIM jasonman123 or email me stljason1@hotmail.com

I was wanting the computer as is. Based on what I know, the basic specs look good (Hard Drive, Video Card, System Memory, Processor Speed), but that's about the limit of my knowledge on the matter.
I just wonder if any of that will be completely outdated within the next couple of months, or if some of the brands are unreliable.

Not too bad for what the current price is shown. If you have an extra $200 that you can spend, get the FX 5900. The special they show isn't too bad for the price.
And with what is shown, you'll be able to run FFXI pretty well. The processor and video card are the same that ominub has and he's able to get around 5000 on the benchmark. So with your setup, it shouldn't be too hard to at least get a 4000-5000 score.

yeah you will run FFXI fine but if you want to play future games the only thing you will have to upgrade is the ram and proccesor but if you just want it to play FFXI then it will work fine

Re: Re: Re: Yo Null, more questions for you ¦¬Þ
Actually, RAM and CPU will be fine to play games for quite a while.
Games dont jump up in requirments that much. its said HL2 min required will be 700 to 800mhz
of course to keep games running at thier utter most top level you have to upgrade a lot, but most generally dont run everything at top level even if they have the power. many things just arent noticable.
And games generally dont need more then 512 RAM, thats plenty and over enough for any game out. the extra game comes into play when closing the game are starting it up. but during it its not as big of a deal.
but yea. it looks good.

Wonderful, thanks for the check-over and info.
And Jonbo, not sure about $200 more for greater-than-necessary video card. That's like another paycheck, heh.

depends.... If the one they have in it uses the nv30 chip, i'd recommend the 5900 which uses the nv35. But not sure what chip the one it has uses.
not like a major thing tho, graphics cards are easily updated later down the road when needed.

The graphics chip wouldn't slow down gameplay though, just make it not as appealing to look at?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Yo Null, more questions for you ¦¬Þ
processor usually controls how well the game would run.
you can run a new game on a fast CPU with a old old geforce 1 card and it would run fast look ugly.
thing with the nv30 chips was that the cards were louder.

You guess that's pretty good? 5255 is an outstanding score. Anything above 2000 can run FFXI smoothly. Also, when the game comes out for PC at the end of October, the clan will be taking in game screens (because you can), and we'll show it to GT. You'll want it then.

well really
0-1500 means your pc is crap dont get the game
1500-3000 you can run the game on low settings
3000-4000 can run the game medium to high settings with little lag
4000+ you can run the game at max setting with no lag at all
jason you got like the same score as me mine was also it the 5200 not sure the exact numbers but just a little above 5200
