Re: Death of a Legend...
It's unfortunate it happened, but he led a great career.
And also, John Ritter died. 8 Simple Rules on ABC was really coming together as a good show, then this happens. damn......

Ritter's death seemed kind of random.
Awkward that both were John, however.

His wife died 4 months ago (I think it said), He couldn't travel to shoot the video for 'Hurt' then he was nominated for a few VMAs and wanted to go to the show, but was hospitalized shortly before it... Then lost to the likes of Justin Timberlake... And they presented a lifetime achievement award to Duran Duran... Hadn't they been around for like... Not too long... and then broke up... and then reunited and YAY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT!!
I guess if MTV tried to honor Johnny Cash, all the kewl teenies would get bored of seeing some old man they've never heard of and go watch their Beyonce video on their computer...
Not that I was ever a fan of Johnny Cash...

I'm sure it's only about 25% above the daily average. They get so much regularly.

We'll miss you John Ritter.
Come and knock on our door
We've been waiting for you
Where the kisses are hers and hers and his
Three's company, too!
Come and dance on our floor
Take a step that is new
We've a loveable space that needs your face
Three's company, too!
You'll see that life is a ball again and
laughter is callin' for you
Down at our rendezvous,
Three's company, too!

It's another night in hell, Another child won't live to tell
Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death
And as we sit free and well, Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath
C'mon now amen, amen, amen

Yeah, both sad occurances. I didnt listen to a lot of Johnny Cash's stuff, but I did like "hurt". I salute you, Man in Black.
As for John Ritter, he was an awesome actor. One of the best. I even think he played on one episode of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Wasnt he the cyborge, 'Ted'?

Re: Re: Death of a Legend...
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
I wear this crown of thorns
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
Beneath the stain of time
The feeling disappears
You are someone else
I am still right here
What have I become?
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know
Goes away in the end
You could have it all
My empire of dirt
I will let you down
I will make you hurt
If I could start again
A million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way
