Best FF
I personally go with seven, great materia method, great gameplay, AMAZING story, and damn near impossible sidequests if you don't know waht your doin (ruby/emerald weapons)

Re: Best FF
10 because it's the only one I beat
and the only other one I played (for more than 2hrs) was the SNES one... it was ok. Isn't close to FFX though.

FF6 baby! Great story! Cool sidequests and items. Cool characters (Go Mog!) Props for the many summons. Props for a main Character who is female. Props for having a main villain who is the only final boss I hate!

Well, for me it's sort of a tie between FF6 and FF7, but seeing as I only beat 7 out of the two, I voted for that.

i liked the battle system in 10, i liked the materia system in 7, in FF8 i liked the junctioning system and the GF learning system...so i didn''t vote...

Re: Best FF
IX was my favorite. I loved the characters, the battle system, the story, etc. It's the one I had most fun playing. I also thought Kuja was cool

lol, X????
graphically it was amazing, but in every other aspect it was crap in IMO , its just that the lack of the world map didn't feel right, it just made the story line much too rigid. That and you didn't get to fly any cool ships around, or ride chocobos and such. As for the blitzball, meh, wasn't nearly as good as it coulda been, controls suck IMO

IX definetely. The best, most memorable characters (Vivi = awesome); colorful fantasy settings (fantasy beats sci-fi anyday); and a pretty neat story to boot. The only con about it is the summoning system, although that one's still better than VIII's.

Eight definintely.
I think that Edea and Ultimecia were excellent villains including the facts that they were both women, except for Kefka, Kuja, (although he can blow your ass up in a millisecond so hes kinda cool in his own way), and Seymour.
I liked the story. I liked the whole thing with the salary too. It helped me out a very good times. Squall + Leonhart = major Ass kicking.
The only flaw for me was the magic drawing system. The GF system was ok too.

VIII would be a close second for me. Squall is one of my favorite characters.

VIII, IMO, places right at very bottom, right under II (the actual II, not IV). The GF and junction systems just sucked and "drawing" magic from enemies being the only way to get it is the worst idea ever. And I thought Squall was just horrible as a hero. The whole "I'm only saving the world because I'm getting paid" only works for muscle-bound action heroes who run into a room with guns flying IMO, not some depressed teen who would probably be happier dead.
As for II, I just think the "levelling up" system was implemented wrong. It was a good idea, and realistic (at least more so than actually levelling up), I think they just didn't do it right and ended up making the game not nearly as good as it could have been.

Can't fly a ship around? Can't ride Chocobos? You must have not played much of the game... because I distinctly remember riding a chocobo and flying in the Airship.
A riggid story? Please explain that...
Blitzball did suck... that's about all I can agree with you on.

the story was VERY linear....i mean you can't go directly from one town to another, you have to traverse the entire damn game to get back to some place b4...as for flying the airship...you didn't actually get to FLY it.... you were just in it while it flew somewhere, and maybe i'm wrong aboot the chocobos... i didn't finish the game, but i came fairly close tho
