Opinions on Rap
So what do you rockers think about rap? Don't just say it sucks or anything..why does it suck? or if you like it...why do you like it?

Most rock blows... I just hate it... It's all about cars and money and women and all the rappers think they're all big and bad and cool and I just want them to shut the hell up... And I hate the way they sing... It ranges from talking to talking like they're mad because they lost their bling bling and think they're cool because they can blow money on expensive crap...
Ok so I exagerated a bit...
There have been a couple of rap songs I've liked in the past though..... "Changes" by Tupac is a swell song...

It's funny because I just had this conversation yesterday with a friend of mine.
I don't like rap because it glorifies killing people. A lot of it is about hurting others and sex. The sex is okay but I don't like it when songs encourage you to hurt others. Rap makes some people think it's cool to be a gangster or a pimp.

Re: Opinions on Rap
As for my input..I tend to listen to old school rap. Grandmaster Flash, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Kool G Rap, just to name a few. I suggest you check them out. They are kind of different from the mainstream rap played on MTV today.

I don't like rap that does that either... unless I like the beat
As far as content goes, I like anything that is the truth, or that is just fun, all that "beef" rap and fighting and killing rap I don't like...
Ok, maybe only if Tupac says it... other than that it's crap

Re: Re: Opinions on Rap
Rap just isn't my taste. Not all rap, but a good portion of it is bragging about there great lifestyle with money or talking about ****ing some women. There is good rap, I guess, but I really never look into the genre itself :P

Hip-hop can be amazing if put into the right hands. I hate all the hip-hop I hear on the radio and all those silly rap videos I see on MTV, but that doesn't mean it's all bad. Listen to ANY artist on the label Def Jux or Stones Throw and you'll instantly see a difference. New and innovative production, and emcees who have a legitimate message and thought that they are trying to express. I'm an avid hip-hop fan because I listened to Deltron 3030 a couple of years ago. Ever since then I've been getting more and more intrigued and fascinated by the underground hip-hop scene. There are tons of talented producers and emcees out there making some hot ****. Don't let the whack emcees fool ya.

Re: Opinions on Rap
Both hip hop and rap have good and bad artists, and same goes with rock and any other genre, but i'm a fan of all music from rock, to rap, to classical, so i'll enjoy anything that sounds good.......cept polka.....i can't stand polka
