Default A small problem...

I recently installed an update to my service activator software for my ISP. But now, for some reason, if I try to click on a link, like a link somebody has posted at GT to somewhere, it dosent take me there. Dosent open a new window, nothing. I have to copy and paste the link for it to work. The same thing happens everywhere. There's probably an easy way to fix this...right?

No, it's cable...Its this software that just like activates my account or somthing...its not the browser if thats what your thinking, im useing Internet Explorer...

EDIT: Ive realised I only have the problem when IE tries to open a new window. It cant open a new window, simple as that. You would think that that may be caused by a pop-up blocker, but I dont have any, I have never downloaded one. There is that thing that stops pop-ups that is built into IE, not sure what that is exactly...could that be causing the problem?

This happens when you "right click, open in new window"?

theres a name for that. and still. i wouldnt use the isp software. our old DSL was going to make us do that... dont remember what it was called.. P something blah. whatever. they told us it was the only way to do it and only 1 pc could come on at a time.

went and bought a network hub, the hub did it for us. and every computer could be on at the same time. so we uninstalled the dsl's software.

luckily my cable doesnt do that and i ditched the DSL.

Jason, go into IE's preferences and see if your problem is in there.

I just used XP's system restore to go back to before I had the problem. Saves me a lot of hassle. System Restore has saved my ass twice now, its too bad it's the only good thing about Windows XP. Thanks for trying to help though.

hey, at least its by far the best windows version. = to 2000 because xp runs on the code they made for 2k,

certainly not the best OS tho. but eh. whatcha gunna do.

hopfully for the next Microsoft OS, they start it from scratch and actually be creative instead of just updating a couple things and making differnt skins for it.
