Geez 19 years
From the Chicago Sun-Times
Man wakes up from 19-year coma
July 9, 2003
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark.--A man regained consciousness after spending 19 years in a coma as the result of a car crash, greeting his mother who was waiting at his bedside.
''He started out with 'Mom' and surprised her and then it was 'Pepsi' and then it was 'milk.' And now it's anything he wants to say,'' Stone County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center social director Alesha Badgley said Tuesday.
Terry Wallis, 39, had been at the Stone County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since the July 1984 crash.
Wallis' wife, Sandi, said he was riding with a friend when their car plunged into a creek. They were found the next day underneath a bridge. The friend was dead and Wallis was comatose.
He emerged from the coma about two weeks ago.
''It's been hard dealing with it, it's been hard realizing the man I married can't be there,'' Sandi Wallis said. ''We all, the whole family, missed out on his company.''
Wallis' daughter, Amber, was born shortly before the accident. She is now 19 and Wallis has said he wants to walk again, for her. He is a quadriplegic as a result of the crash.
His mother, Angilee Wallis, called her son's return to consciousness a miracle.
''I couldn't tell you my first thought, I just fell over on the floor,'' she said.
Wallis has spent most of his time at the rehabilitation center, but his family took him out for weekends and special occasions.
''The doctor said that's why he remembers things; we might have kept his mind going,'' Sandi Wallis said.

Ok, think of everything that's happened since 1984? What would be the first thing you'd tell him.
I think I'd have to tell him that the Soviet Union doesn't exist anymore.

Re: Geez 19 years
i would tell him all the wonderful and glorious aspects of Final Fantasy VII
that and show him all the new technology wonders and stuff....for example, back in 1984, they thought that you would NEVER need more than 1/2 a megabyte of RAM.....jeez

I would tell him he just died and now he's about to serve his sentance in hell. Jk, I'm not that cruel
lol... It would be funny to see his face when he sees a CD, or a computer, or a cell phone, and Video games, jesus... I was in awe with SNES/Sega after NES, and N64 after SNES/Sega, and I was in awe with Ps2 after N64... this guy jumps from Atari as his main mind set of what a video game is, all the way up to Xbox... he could play the most crap game on Ps2/Xbox/GCN and it would be the most shocking thing he has ever seen. :P
Also, Television would be a LOT different now, much more violence nudity and cursing. He would be facinated by some little things I bet, things we don't even think about.

Re: Geez 19 years
I'd act like Morpheus and introduce him to the internet.
Then I'd tell him that we have started cloning.
Then I'd show him cell phones and how they've progressed.
Then I would introduce to him the world of DVDs and MP3s.
Then I'd lie to him and tell him we have time travel.
Then I would act all mysterious and walk out of the room.

I wouldn't tell him anything, but I'd ask him if he has any kinds of psychic powers...

Remember the movies with the dead guy named Bernie? (I think) He was always partying and getting the ladies, even though he was dead. So since it can be done in hollywood, it surely can be done in real life.

Weekend at Bernie's? Good movie.
In fact, I'll give a real quick search for a poster of it...
...
...
There, not the original movie cover though.
Not sure why someone made a sequal.
