Time Traveller
I think that this article is a couple of weeks or months old.. But I just recently stumbled upon it. It is kind of neat.. And I like it! So here it is.
Quote:
NEW YORK – Andrew Carlssin claims to be from the future! After being arrested on January 28th for insider trading disbelieving authorities still have a few mystery questions which remain unanswered.
Federal investigators arrested the Wall Street trading sensation on insider-trading charges. Officers at the Security and Exchange Commission revealed that the 44-year-old has had some unbelievable successes in the stock market over the past two months.
He maintains that he arrived in his time machine from the year 2256 and that his ‘past’ knowledge of the market fluctuations were the secret of his success.
A Securities Exchange officer was quoted as saying - "We don't believe this guy's story -- he's either a lunatic or a pathological liar,"
"But the fact is, with an initial investment of only $800, in two weeks' time he had a portfolio valued at over $350 million. Every trade he made capitalized on unexpected business developments, which simply can't be pure luck.
"The only way he could pull it off is with illegal inside information."
The fact is that Carlssin made 126 high-risk trades and won each and every time. This is what alerted the Wall Street authorities.
"If a company's stock rose due to a merger or technological breakthrough that was supposed to be secret, Mr. Carlssin somehow knew about it in advance," says the SEC source close to the hush-hush, ongoing investigation.
Under investigation Carlssin gave a four-hour confession which is pretty unbelievable.
"It was just too tempting to resist," Carlssin explained during his confession. "I had planned to make it look natural, you know, lose a little here and there so it doesn't look too perfect. But I just got caught in the moment."
He even reportedly offered to reveal the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden and a cure for AIDS if the court would cut him a bit of slack. He simply want so be released so he can return to the future in his "time craft." But refuses to reveal the finer details of this futuristic technology.
Even though officers don’t believe a word of his story they’re bamboozled by one strange fact . The SEC source confirms - "No one can find any record of any Andrew Carlssin existing anywhere before December 2002."

I think that this is very neat... And I wonder if he is telling the truth! LOL... Highly unlikely... But could be possible.. lol

Well I believe it I believe everything I read that's weird like this. I figure if I believe in them all then one day when the real thing comes around ill be able to say "see, told ya so" Plus believing in silly things like this is fun. makes you feel strange and weird. Like when you were 5.

Yeah, my friend told me about this a few weeks back. I just cracked up laughing.
Really, you start to wonder about incidents like that.

i think i remember seeing this on an email when it came out, then i found the source was one of those "newspapers" at the checkout lines that also have stories on bigfoot and such... not that they don't exist either

Nothing is impossible. According to the laws of physics, it is impossible for electrons in certain atoms to jump levels, yet they do, and there is no explanation. On paper it is impossible. In reality it may be another matter all together.
And saying that, I think this story is complete bulls**t on all levels.

Yeah, I am a little confused now if it is just a completely made up story, or if it is just a crazy guy. I dunno.

If I were the cops I'd go easy on him just to see what he turns up on the cure for AIDS and Bin Laden's location.

But there's a 99.9% chance the guy's just a crazy person, and if the cops believed his story (or even gave him a chance) they'd look like morons in the eyes of the public and cops don't like that!

It's made up man. I fell for it at first, but then Fark.com started making fun of any website that picked it up as a real story. Great fake though.

Think about it... 800 to 350,000,000 in 14 days? Do you realize the percentage of change there? If this was real, it'd be in more places than a few gag spots, a few law spots, and the World Weekly News. CCN would make bank off of a real story like this.

Interesting site. It definately was a good read. However... some of the concepts seem flawed in parts. Mainly the theories involving portable wormholes. Still very interesting and amusingly possible.
