Gekko!!
I know u use a Macintosh (i think it's u).
Anyway if it is you, please explain which notebooks are good coz I'm thinking of buying a Mac notebook, and i don't know ANYTHING bout Macs.
Also I have a G4 at work which has both Mac OS9x and OSx. How do I change between Os's?
Even though I'm studying an MCSE for Pc's (windows based obviously) i'm getting sick of them, and I think Macs look better.
Xp is such a rip off of Mac Osx. Such a ripoff

yes you can....................if they are made for the mac. some are, some arent. some are made for PC, then maybe have a mac version made a year later. Majority of games arent on mac at all.. as far as strickly gameing goes. PC is better for that. thats not the macs strong point. it has other strong points.
now there might be other ways to get the games to play on mac, that i am not sure of. I know on linux. you can get most games to work. thro PC emulator type deals or other metheds.

Ok, first what is your budget? If you're not looking to spend a whole lot, you should get an iBook. If you the price isn't an issue and you want state of the art power and capabilities, go for a Powerbook.
There are 2 iBook models and 3 Powerbook models. You can learn about all of them here.
Yes, you can play games on a Mac. Usually, there ported to Mac quite a bit later but there are programs which will allow you to play PC versions on your Mac if you don't want to wait.
Is it difficult to use Mac? No, going from a PC to a Mac will be a wonderful experience, you'll kick yourself for not entering our world sooner Serously though, it's very easy.

Blizzard is nice to Mac users. You can play Warcraft. Counter Strike was never ported, so can't play that. Some games do get ported, but very late. Generally you will stop playing games if you get a Mac, especially if it's a notebook. Those some RTS may be possible if you use a mouse, gaming and notebooks generally don't go good together.
Next topic, Microsoft. Evil, very evil. As for maximizing, that's some stupid and pointless Window's feature. And no, Macs aren't designed with that horrid layout. You can make it as big as you want, but it will never have that maximize look to it that the Windows version does. Oh, and use Safari.
As for switching between OSs, you go into System Preferences, to the Startup Disk, and select which OS to boot to. You could also hold option when you boot (a little slow). Or start up classic mode in OS X. Don't know why you would want to these days.

Oh ok. I just got used to full screen I guess with Windows. I don't like Microsoft overall, and I'm kind of sick of them which is why I wanna change.

one other question.
How do I upgrade from Mac OSX (10.0.4 build) to Mac OSX (10.1.5 or the latest version)?
Apparently I need to format my Apple. Is there another way?

Format it? You shouldn't. You should be able to put in the disc and just upgrade. I personally would suggest a clean install to make your life easier, but it depends on what you have on your HD.
Either way, the newest version is 10.2, Jagaur. Go get a copy, and install it. Then run Software update to get caught up with everything.

Is Jaguar free if you have Mac Osx?

Go into the System Preferences and click Software Update, it should detect that you don't have the latest version and bring it up on the list of updates.

Yes, it's free. You have to OS X version 10.2 or higher though. You can't upgrade free to 10.2 you have to buy it, there's many major inprovments in it though and some new stuff. It's called Jaguar.

I see. Well I won't be needing that. I just wanna upgrade to OSX 1.5 ( I think) so I can run common programs like Norton Antivirus.

Actually, you will be needing that. If you're not at 10.1.5, it means you're still running 10.0, a horribly slow and crappy version of the OS, pretty much a second beta. 10.1 improves speed quite a bit, but you won't be able to buy it anymore. You'll have to buy 10.2, which is by far the best version out there. Trust me, you don't want to get behind with Mac OS X.

Yeh
We bought the Mac G4 about 1 year ago, and we haven't touched it. Only the marketing ppl have. They are fking experts with it, but never upgraded.
So we can't upgrade from 10.0.x to 10.1.5 for free? We need to buy well..........10.2?
