Ahhhhh... Piper
Rowdy Roddy Piper was back on WWE TV tonight and even after all these years he is still one of the best heel talkers in the biz. he managed to make a 15 year old angle involving a coconut seem fresh and compelling. Damn, he's a complete bastard and I love it. No one relishes in the disapproval of the fans like he does.
He came of as smart, coniving and deceiving. Long live the Rowdy One. Now lets just hope he can get himself in shape while he manages O'Haire, which I think will be a great pairing considering O'Haire's new "mind games" type of gimmick.

Yeah I thought the segment was well put together even though I thought it featured a little too much McMahon for my blood.
I think he might actually do lots of good for O'Haire's character, maybe Rikishi and Hogan will take on O'Haire and Piper?

I think McMahon simply roasted Piper... Vince is a funny guy sometimes

Hey, Piper got in some good shots too. While Vince mainly made fun of Piper's weight, Piper basically said that the only thing Vince has succeeded in is a business that he inherited (I know he bought it from his dad, but its really the same thing)
I was mainly pointing out the passion with which Piper was able to rip Hogan and then turn the infamous coconut incident into a viable modern angle. I'm actually interested in where they are taking this. Smackdown is such a better program than Raw right now, its not even funny.

I find myself sitting on the edge of my seat more for Raw than SD... SD has more channel changing matche than Raw imo, anything Containing A-Train, Big Show or Rhyno is a channel changer imo. But last night I didn't have to deal with much of that, and thank god Beniot won.
I would sway to the HHH subject, but guess if you wanted more of that you would have replied to the other topic
-EDIT-
oh, BTW, Peguin made a topic for you:
http://www.gametavern.net/forums/sho...&threadid=5182
I promise it has nothing to do w/ HHH

I would expect you to enjoy Raw more, as it does feature your favorite wrestler. I just think that Smackdown has better storylines by far, plus it has much better in ring talent and great tag teams. I hope they push Mysterio and Tajiri to the stars, as they deserve it. They just need an angle with guys who can ork the mic better than Team Angle, as they can't talk either. Sheldon Benjamin sounds like English is his second language.
As for HHH, I have given up on that topic with you, as i believe you have been bewitched by Stephanies implants...

I agree on everything you said about Piper, Piper's Pit was great yesterday. The whole Smackdown was pretty good yesterday.
And I honestly can't even see how/why people could possibly like Raw better than Smackdown. I just don't see it... On Smackdown, every segment apart from maybe two yesterday was very watchable. On Raw, there's usually only two segments that ARE watchable. When Rock or Jericho aren't on, it's almost always bad TV imo right now on Raw.
Plus you never see the quality of matches on Raw that you would on Smackdown. On Raw, the Women's match is usually the best or second best match, with maybe one or two other good matches. On Smackdown, Benoit's matches is usually awesome, Team Angle vs anyone has been pretty good, Angle when around is always having a good match with anyone, Eddie is god, Cena is always entertaining, and the Cruiserweights always entertain.

I think Raw is more jammed packed with superstars... it seems like it is at a higher level than SD. Especially now that Angle is gone, they have a new champ who is acctually worse on the mic than HHH (and I would argue that to death), even though he can pull out a better match.
But matches are for PPVs, on Raw/SD all I'm looking for are reasons not to change the channel, and many of SD's matches have me changing the channel. I don't like how WWE is shoving people like Rhyno, A-Train, Big Show, and Nathan Jones... and even to an extent Team Angle down out throats. They are setting them up too quick to be good wrestlers, and I don't really care for them.
SD will forever have a chip on it's shoulder until they start proving that they are better by beating some Raw guys. I mean, the champ on SD acctually ran from HHH in the story... that takes all credibility away from him imo. Then theres the tourney, which I know at least 6 of those 8 guys wouldn't have been in had the shows been merged.
But eh, some may view it as a good thing, I just see SD as the "Minor leauges"... a lot of guys got a push they would have never had if the shows been merged, but at the same time, that it makes the World title the main story on both shows, thus creating the monster we know as HHH. No Split=Huge sideline for HHH to sit on w/o the belt, but Split=HHH is in the title race, or there is no room for him.
But meh, not to stray too far from the point, methinks SD has the better matches, but it has much less credibility in my eyes, while Raw's wrestlers are established as simply better talent at this time.

Game, you are way too fixated on stars and win loss records. All I care about is being entertained, and for my money Smackdown is about 20 times more entertaining than Raw has been for the past year.

Well I was gonna write a whole big thing here, but I'll just say that I completely disagree with everything TheGame said. Like the Strangler, I watch to be entertained, and with or without the big established stars, SD entertains me far more than Raw does.

How is that?
I don't really care about who wins or who loses, but I do care about credibility, and I do tend to like stars more who have earned it.
It just feels like comparing ECW to WWE back in the day, you know the second some big champ in the ECW moves over he's going to turn into a jobber.... but you don't really know because it didn't happen yet, you just have the gut feeling WWF was the higher level.

for the past year??? Ok, now I agree, I have liked SD more from the first split with Vince and Flair ALL the way up until Rock Came back to Raw(and the month before, I say tie). I think Raw is been better recently. If I had to miss one or the other during the week now, I'd miss SD, 2-3 months ago, chances are I'd miss Raw.(even though I missed both because they sucked)

Well, what entertains you about SD that you just don't get on Raw?

Everything! Once again I was gonna write some big thing here, but I'll keep it shorter... On Raw, I can't stand most of the guys that get the most TV time. I hate Goldberg, Triple H, and Michaels, Booker T kinda bores me, RVD is in a damn tag team with Kane, Jim Ross gets more TV time than the Hurricane... On Smackdown I love the guys that get most of the TV time. Benoit, Angle when not injured, Brock, the Cruiserweights as a whole, the tag team division including the Guerrero's and Team Angle, I find Cena entertaining as hell...
I think it's booked way better, and it has new, frsher stars at the top. I'm sick of seeing Triple H, Goldberg (from WCW), Shawn Michaels, etc. And I WANT TO see more Brock, Benoit, Angle, Cena, etc.
But most importantly, the matches on Raw usually suck other than possibly a good Jericho match, while on Smackdown I can see maybe two-three good Cruserweight matches, a good tag team match, and a couple good matches involving Benoit, Brock, or Angle when not injured.

lol, we completly think backard from eachother then..
Personally, I can't stand seeing Brock, Big Show, A-Train, Rhyno, the FBI, and Nathan Jones... I'm talking almost auto channel change... I'm pretty sick of Hogan/Vince, and my boy Beniot does it in the ring but doesn't impress me one bit n the mic. Angle use to be a big draw, but he's goen now so meh.
but like I said, you are sick of guys I like to see, and I'm sick of guys you may like to see...
no point debating with you anymore, I can see why you like Raw less... just less appeal from the stars, which I feel has nothing to do with facts, just opinions.
for every guy you have distaste for on Raw, just think I'm about the same with SD right now...
SD has it's good points though, like with Cena and Undertaker, and I think the matches are better, but the show in general is just less entertaining to me right now.

Smackdown > RAW (IMO)
So many entertaining wreslters on SD!: Lesnar, Angle (now he's out, but yeah), Benoit, Team Angle, Los Guererros, Mysterio.
and RAW has HHH talk about bore-fest matches. I hate how no matter what situation the match is in, all he does is kick his opponent in the stomach, hit him with the pedigree, and the match is over. HORRIBLE.
At least they have Jericho and Rock...the two best talkers in the business.
