In the Land of Hyrule...
(Just like to point out what I think about the game)
Just got my reserved copy of Zelda: Wind Waker today, and so far, I am amazed. Nintendo, you've done it once again. For those who are still bashing the graphics, good, because I am glad this game went cel-shaded. Once you play the game you'll find out how awesome the graphics are and how they suck you into the game.
I've been playing for a good 2 hours and boy am I impressed. Graphics are at its best, music brings back memories from both Ocarina of Time and A Link to the Past, combat is probably the best thing I've experienced... The combos Link maneuvers with his swords and weapons are just loads of fun... it makes fighting in this game a must. This time around, it's more than just slash and thrust, you'll be jumping and attacking while thrusting and spinning like a maniac.
The story is finally something new... I am not going to go deep into that because I have seen a few spoilers which some people really don't want to see. But there are a bunch of new cast of characters to meet and interact with which will make the game more interesting.
So far, I am loving it with all my gaming galore, and if you have a Gamecube, please don't miss out on this awesome title.

Can't wait to get mine today... anyone else wanna post some impressions? I really wanna see what people think of this game and if they think it deserves even a 9.0 from what youve seen from the game so far.

When I went by ebgames to get sims for xbox they had a bunch of zeldas with the bonus disks so I went ahead and bought one. The guy said a lot of people hadn't picked up their reserves so they were selling them off.

I got the game, and Im probably over 3 hours into it. People who say Nintendo's development has gotten worse lately are crazy. This game rules...As cartoonish as the graphics are, they pack so much detail...it makes it look realistic, no doubt. The first REAL dungeon was, I thought, a little harder than the first dungeon in OOT.(by this I mean the puzzles were harder) The story has me hooked. I could go on and on about all the good things, so let me say one or 2 minior gripes. First off, the bad guys dont inflict as much damage as they did in OOT. During the first boss battle, he hit me multiple times, it only did 1/4 of a heart damage each time, and all I had to do was go get a heart out of one of the jars that are all over the place. Another even more minor complaint is the hit-detection...you can hit a guy with your sword, make him fall over, and then he will get up and stand there for a second doing nothing, while you slash away with your sword and it does nothing to him. But these complaints are so minor, everything else rocks hard. I love the character designs...they're so diverse and interesting.

I got to play the demo today when I picked up Amplitude...
The graphics fit the game because Link is do damned young in it, and are very stylish. Technically, I don't see what's so AMAZING about the graphics, but artistically the whole engine is used well. Combat is relatively the same as OOT, which is good...one thing that pissed me off was Link's repetitive "yaaah!" sounds when he fights.
I want to get into the whole game, though...Zelda games as demos aren't really exciting...you have to experience everything

Well, let me make your problems go away..........
You have 3 hearts, the enemies are supposed to take off 1/4 of a heart. I am 100% sure just like every Zelda game that later in the game there will be enemies that inflict more than 4 hearts a hit... Don't forget the Axe man in OoT.
Adn yeah, everything else, I agree. The story stays with the flow of the game and the first dungeon is way harder than OoT's.
Wow this game is awesome. I am going to have fun with this baby!

No, the enemies don't take off more hearts. I rarely lose a whole heart. And even when I do, there's always enough jars or grass around to get it back. For too easy in the combat department.
But the puzzles are harder IMO. Like Jason said, the first dungeon is pretty hard puzzle wise. Though not incredibly difficult.
The story is really good so far. More twists and turns than most Zelda games, which is nice. If you haven't read spoilers, you're definetly going to be surprised. And either way, you're going to be pleased. *very minor spoiler*
This is really the first direct sequel in the Zelda series, except maybe AoL. While other Zelda have taken place right after another and had the same Link (like OoT and MM or LttP and LA), their stories have never been directly connected. This one has very direct connections to Oot. You'll see what I mean.
*end spoiler*
I really like the game. I don't like it as much as OoT or MM, but it is certainly worth of being a Zelda game.
And although I do actually like the cel-shaded graphics now, I still hope they have more realistic graphics in the next game.
*shrugs and walks away*

Im finding myself thinking about the game when im not playing it. The cartoon style makes me enjoy just walking around, just to see what will be around the next corner...or who I might bump into next. At first I wasnt all that impressed with the Graphics, but the more I play, the more times I stop and just think ''Wow...thats really pretty'' Some of the cliffs on the edge of the Islands are really neat...you can look out forever into the ocean...and the amazing thing is, If you can see it on the horizion, you can get there. Its an incredible feeling of freedom.

Zelda was one the reasons I bought a Gamecube. And after playing WW, the gamecube was worth every penny. So far I'm liking this game more that MM (almost as much as OoT). the graphics fit the game extremely well. I'm actually happy they used cel-shading. The puzzles are actually a bit harder, but I just got to the forbidden forest. This is the best Gamecube game available so far.
If you havem't bought it, buy it!
