Talking Zelda Masterquest

This game is cool and weird. The levels are completely different and there are cows in walls. I have not been to the water temple yet but imagine it will be extremely difficult. I want to know if there is a point to the man who races you to the forest and always beats you by one second? I hope there is since there was not one in the orignal Ocarina of time.

The man that goes from like, guredo valley to the forest? He will always beat you no matter how fast you are, and he was in the original.

Here is an interesting thing I just picked up on...this dosent have to do with master quest, but both games(at least I assume its the same with both games) You know that 10 second load time at the begining? Well, that loads the ENTIRE game. Thats right, you can open the disc cover, and play to your hearts content, and it will NEVER tell you to close the disc cover, unless you try to save. I thought that was pretty impressive.

I think duffman knew that. He was just wondering if there was a point of having him in the game, and maybe he does have a point in the Master Quest game.

I think if you try to go from one "area" to another, like entering or leaving the Goron place, I think it tells you to close the disc cover. But I will go check sometime soon to make sure to see if it does. And to add to your interesting thing (that I too have noticed), you only hear the "laser motor" move for a second or 2 after you click on either game. I think the rest is spent on loading it into the RAM and rendering all the textures and whatnot. But I hate so far that if I am entering/leaving an area, the music will sometimes give a very small hiccup, but continue playing. Its the small things that get to me sometimes.

I am really enjoying the Masters Quest, it is really nice to play because it brings back old memories. It is also nice, because its not the same as just playing the game through again, because lots of stuff is different. I think that this was a really good idea to do.

I think it would have been an ever better idea to change at least a few things OUTSIDE of dungeons as well...

Why must you always look on the negative side of things DH? We got basically 2 free games. There shouldnt be any complaining.

Anybody who considers Master Quest a totally different game is nutz... And if you havn't played it yet then don't be talkin *snaps fingers*... heh... Cuz really the ONLY different shtuff in the games are in the dungeons... all the skulltula's, heart containers, and everything else OUTSIDE of the dungeons are in the exact same location and everything... *shrugs* It's just like the very first Zelda on NES... beat the game once (or name your character Link) and you start the second Quest where the dungeon locations and such are switched around, but everything else is the same... But is the first Zelda 2 games in 1? No, but OoT/MQ has a flashy menu and 2 names OMG!...

But I wasn't complaining... I was just saying I don't think it would have been much harder to change some things outside of the dungeons too, and it would have made Master Quest even better... but as is I find myself being quite bored between dungeons because it's the same as OoT and I've beaten that like 4 times (including one time on this special bonus disc)... *shrugs*

Yeah, that kills me... I was thinking they would move stuff around to make the game much harder. I mean, searching for heart contaners again without any guide help would be fun.

Has any played through the Water Temple in MasterQuest? it's freakin easy, even easier than in the original game, what's up with that?

and the fire temple in MQ is stupid, you only have to do 50% of it to beat it. but at least volvagia is still bad ass.
