Realistic Zelda for 2004
Quote:
Mario 128, Pikmin 2 and New Zelda - GameCube
In an interview with Japanese publication Famitsu,Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed that both Pikmin 2 and Mario 128 will be released this year. Miyamoto went on to say that the next installment of The Legend of Zelda would appear in 2004. Look for a traditional Mario game and more realistic looking Zelda game.

On an AOL members site?
I remember Miyamoto talking about the first two, but he hinted at a new zelda, but not a release or anything. And, I think he said he'd do it in the same style, and to leave the big guns for the next gen. Or something.

He might take the "Toon-Shading" and maybe make it a more "realistic" shading. The Toon-Shading is great and shows what the 'Cube is really capable of, but I want to see a little more realistic shaded one like an anime or something along those lines.

I'd rather see an update to the N64 Zeldas... Link in his SSB:M style.

*meanwhile in a subterranean lair beneath Nintendo headquarters in Kyoto, Nintendo execs discuss different matters*
Exec: "So what did you mean by a more realistic looking Zelda game anyways?"
Miyamoto: "When I said more realistic, I meant more realistic for the world of Zelda."
Exec: "So what you're saying is, is that the graphics are still going to be cel-shaded with minor improvements to make the world seem more like you'd believe it to look?"
Miyamoto: "Precisely."
*the entire room fills with evil laughter*

Nintendo should make another mario game with 2D gameplay (although maybe 3D graphics... like the level thing in SSB:M)... Complete with magical 'world map' where you would walk around and pick a square (level) and there would be like a BAZILLION OF THEM OVER DIFFERENT WORLDS FULL OF THE SPECIAL BONUS GAMES AND SUCH TO GET EXTRA LIVES WOOO!....
Then maybe I'd actually buy it

Along the lines of what DH said. 2D and make it so unbelieveably long that it would takes days to finish(ie: at least half of all NES games), that is if you can play for days straight. But keep it easy enough so that it is possible to beat it without breaking multiple controllers.

Whoa whoa, I don't think we want all games to turn into something like Dragon Warrior 7. It was good, but.. damn... long.....
Kind of unbearable after a while.

If they released a more "realistic" cel-shaded Zelda, I think I would totally tweak on someone.
::friend tells me that new Zelda game is again cel-shaded::
::I slug a nearby passerbyer::
::me and my friend walk away::
