Ok, most of those reasons are good, but I have to argue a couple. And yes, I have used Macs a lot.

21- One button mouse - Who the **** would want a one-button mouse??? Can you say "not functional"?

28- Hardware design. Macs are so much nicer to look at than a pc -Maybe true. But PCs are a lot more customizable.

38. 1984 -Ok, I'm just confused, could someone elaborate?

43. Multitasking -And windows can't do that?

46. easy to understand dialog boxes (buttons are verbs) -Ok, if you can't interpret a dialog box, you must be pretty dumb. Although I have to admit, this could be better for younger kids.

49. Photoshop 7 -And windows doesn't have this?

64. When you select "shutdown" the computer actually shuts down, instead of freezing on the shutdown screen, like most Windows computers after a fair amount of use -Riiiiight..... That has never happened to me.

74. There are less viruses that attack Macs -Actually, I though this one was good.


Well, the main thing I have with Macs is that they are not easily upgraded (bigger HD, faster processor, RAM, etc.) and that most of the time, they cost more than equivalent PCs.

Oh well, I don't like Macs, so I won't get one.

Some people like the one button mouse, makes things simple. I will so for notebooks, I prefer the one button setup. Though, on my desktop, I use a 5 button with scrollwheel.

Point? Cut and paint your case all you want, when your Mac arrives at your house, you're happy. Costs less money that way. Plus Apple's designs win awards and make the cover of Time magazine, who needs to mess with perfection?

1984 was the year Apple introduced Macintosh. Has a big commercial "See why 1984 won't be like 1984." Guess you can't expect PC fans to get it.

Macs do multitasking better.

I don't know what he meant by dialog boxes. Though, when it comes to error messages, Macs are much more user-friendly.

Photoshop 7 runs better on Mac.

Happened to me for a while.

Macs come in different models, the "i" models are consumer models, and the "Power" lines are pro-level models. Both allow you to easily add more RAM, and the Power line allows you to easily add up to 4 HDs. Processors though, you can get 3rd party upgrades. Of course, very few people upgrade their processors. Plus Mac processors don't progress at the same speed as PC, you won't be out of date nearly as fast.

And the cost is comparable.

1. 1 button mouse is a piece of sh!t. if one button is better for doing stuff.... Just use 1 button. duh. But whats the point of denying all the other buttons just because thigns CAN be done with 1 button?? even if i only liked 1 button. I'd rather have a mouse with 5 and use one but have the option of using others.
i seriously cant think of anything i wouldnt want other buttons for. i know macs are setup nicely and differntly. but i like right clicking things for options *shrugs*


And about the PC and Mac looks. the right PC i think looks better. i think macs look nice. but a little soft sometimes. i like the Muscle looking looks of some PC's.


anywho. that is all. macs are better in certain area's others PC has advantages. all depends on what you do with your computer.

Macs are setup for right clicking. And the options have always been there, you just needed to hold control when you clicked. See, Mac users are used to a different way of working things. Control-click, and option-clicking to do different things. You're used to right clicking, they're used to having their left hand on the keyboard.

I like that with Macs you plug your mouse into the keyboard and not the back of the computer. Think PCs would have adopted that idea too by now...

PCs still use the old connectors for keyboards and mice mainly. USB never really caught on like it did with Macs, because the PC world isn't able to standardize hardware. They are out there, but even my new PC came with the old connectors.

I just wish I had an Apple monitor (specifically Cinema HD) so I could connect my keyboard into that. Not to mention Apple has the best displays out there, and the ADC kicks ass.

I didn't know you could hook up keyboards directly to Apple's flat displays! Thats very cool.

um. they have. my keyboard has 2 USB plugs on it.

i had a keyboard like 5 years ago that had some.
not new. been there for a while. i dont like plugging my mouse into my keyboard tho. i use it for other things. that i plug in and out... example.... my PS2 controller.... or my mp3 player.
since my mouse is always there. i plug that into the USB in the back.


And pretty much every mouse or keyboard you buy is going to use a USB plug. they come with an adaptor to plug into the round port. but they're made with USB. been that way for a while too.

and yea. if ya buy a new motherboard. most likely it will have some of the old plugs on it. as well as the new ones. no harm in it i guess. mine just dont get used.


And as for what PC and Mac users are used to doing gekko...... thats what i was sayin by they're differnt.

but that could mean a lot of things. there could be a diff type of computer and maybe thier mouses only have a scroll bar. no buttons. so maybe for menus they're used to holding down CTRL ALT SHIFT and scroll up on the scroll bar 2 times.......

i mean sounds stupid to ya. but if they were used to it *shrugs* how i feel about holding a key down and using the mouse. I either use mouse. or i use all keyboard. and leave the mouse alone. Ofcourse its not for everyone. and Differnt Strokes for Differnt Folks.

im just sayin i'd rather have the extra buttons there even if i only mainly used 1. Like getting a new Car... Standard or Loaded......if they both costed the same. and you only used the standard options. You wouldnt want all the extra features for the same price?

I'm not in an argument with you here. I personally said before, I prefer a multi-button mouse on my PC, but single-button for notebooks (I like having only one button to hit with my thumb). I was just saying why someone would like a one button mouse, they're used to it, they like it.

I personally think Apple has the best of both worlds with the one button mouse. OS X natively supports a 3 button mouse and scrollwheel, it just comes with a 1-button mouse. But this way, all the software still supports control-click and option-click. With Windows, where multi-button mice have been the standard for ages, you don't have the option to choose how you want to browse. If I had a choice between the way Apple does it, and the way Windows does, I would go with Apple. I like having the option there. But what am I using right now? 5 button mouse with scrollwheel.

I've never had a keyboard come with my PC that uses USB. Bought one before though, but it didn't work with USB (I just love Windows ). Most 3rd party keyboards use USB, but not all keyboards do. Just one of the many benefits to having Apple control the hardware.

And on Apple displays there is a 2-port USB hub. They can do this because the Apple monitors use the Apple Display Conncter, which is just one cord that connects to your video card and supports power, video, and USB. You could add it to PC monitors, but you would have the power cord, USB cord, and VGA/DVI cord coming out of the monitor.

But that is why the keyboard cord is so short. It's designed to be used with an Apple monitor, or iMac. I have to use the extention to reach the pack of my PowerMac G4 which sits about a foot away from my keyboard.

But I still like this one the best:

The One_Button MOuse is the only thing i don't like about Mac Desktops, althugh this is EASILY fixed with a Micrtosoft USB Intellimouse that DOESN'T need an adapter for a PS/2 Port like the PC version does in ost cases, and, with MAc use, si usualymroe Durable! I have to agree abut M$ Software runnign better on a Mac, Office X works better than Office XP for the PC!

Windoze Sucks at Multitasking, unless you're truing to run Word, PowerPoint, ad Excel at the Smae time, belive me I know.

1984 was the year Mac made LEAPS ahead of it's time and went from just "Apple Computers" to Introducing the new "Mac" line, which was previously just called "Apople" if i'm not mistaken (Gekko clear this one up for me, I was born in 1984 and I have only speculation on this ad).

The Dialog Boxes on the PC are usully related to Cryptic "Blue Screen" Messages, usually the "Erorro" Boxes.

Photoshop 1-7 it doesn't matter, ALWAYS looks better ona ac, and no sane grpahics artist would use a PC.

I have three PC's, 9 out of 10 times on will freeze on Shutdown, and a second one will often do the same thing, also Mac's don't LOSE half your data when they crash, and that's a rare event unlike with Winblows.

As for Mac = God, adn PC = Windows, it's more like Windows = Axis Powers of Early WW2, Mac =Allied Powers of WW2, we won the d@mn war, and we're gonna beat Billy Gates as well.

Note to self: refer to Bill gates as "Billly Gates" from now on, that should mkae him lok even CHEAPER than he already does!
