it's all opinions, there really is no "better" game, you had best play them yourself and then judge it for yourself. someone might say sms is better while others would say sfa...

My brother having just gotten SFA yesterday, I now have both games. But I have barley gotten to play SFA yet, so as I get further into it, I will be able to make a better prediction on which I like better. (I havent even gotten to play as fox yet)

They're not really very comparable games. SMS is a platformer while SFA is a an adventure game. Just choose whichever genre you like best.

Though they're totally different games. I would just say, SMS, plain and simple. I had so much fun playing SMS, and it a somewhat challenging experience. The level design is also impeccable. SFA is a good game, but sadly, nothing great, or spectacular. The graphics are top notch, and everything seems very refined. But the game itself is not only monotonous, but it just doesn't bring anything new into the gaming world.
SFA would be a great game to show off graphically (though the water in SMS is some of the best in any game).

Let me rate those 2 games...
Star Fox Adventures: 8.3/10
Super Mario Sunshine: 9.4/10
This is my opinion and I personally think most people prefer Mario than Star Fox Adventures. SFA has no replay value... It barely has any secrets while Mario has blue coins and a whopping 120 shines to collect. Not to mention huge awesome levels and a lot of replay value. I'd pick Mario over Fox any day.

Haven't played SFA yet due to that stupid Lik Sang site getting sued for selling modified consoles
but SMS is a worthy purchase if you own a GC. So fun!!

I liked Star Fox Adventures much more than Mario Sunshine. Shoot me! Rare's last offering was much better. SMS was ok... I just didn't see what people were getting all excited about.
SFA>SMS.
SFA!=SMS.
SMS
Heh?

Really? Star Fox Adventures took me 20 hours to beat easily while Mario Sunshine took me 30 hours. Also, I rushed Mario and took my time on Star Fox. I rushed Mario for a reason... That reason was because I got 3 new games the week I beat Mario. So I had to beat it fast to play SFA, KH, and AC.

Im like 20% into SFA so far, and while its certinatley not ground-breaking gameplay wise, either was SMS. The thing that has impressed me most is the facial animations, particularly Fox's. Very impressive. I also like how you can actually see each blade of grass...this game is very pretty. Way too early for me to make judgement on if this game is better than SMS or not though.
