Default Blinx reviews

Ok here's the IGN review:

Presentation
Imaginative worlds and great use of the hard drive. There are some faults here though, like a lack of cut scenes to move the story along and a really bad "time out" scenario. 7.0

Graphics
Amazing lighting and color make this one of the Xbox gems. The camera sucks and there's some flicker, and some heavy points of slowdown, but overall this one's a beaut. 9.0

Sound
Repetetive (and eventually annoying) soundtrack. The creatures don't make many interesting noises and Blinx only has one scarcely used meow. 6.0

Gameplay
Inventive, unique, and incredibly challenging. It seems so simple from the start of the game, but the further you go, the more difficult things get. A real winner. 8.0

Lasting Appeal
It starts off easy, but when it gets hard, it really gets hard. You'll need to replay earlier levels just to be able to beat later ones. And the incentive for finding all the secrets is there. 8.0

OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 8.8

Post some more.

6 and ends up with an 8.8 rating.

"BS" in stu's terms.

just an example of why i dont like IGN's rating system.

Aside from that. and gekkos very detailed review

game has potential. nice to see some new idea's of sorts in games.

Gamespot gave Blinx a 6.5, and somehow I don't think any of us are slightly surprised by that.

I do not like how IGN's reviews are not averages...... oh well! Lol.... i have never played this game, nor have I watched in-game footage of it. But my friend is getting this soon, so I'll try it out then.

6,5 from GameSpot? Wow, that's quite a difference with IGN!

Yes it is Angrist some one must have really hated the game at Gamespot to give it that rating which is ok it’s there opinion. But it would seem the majority of sites and Magazines (well in the UK any way) have all given the game very good ratings so far. Gamespots review must have had his/her own reasons to give the game such a low rating and after all it is just an opinion at the end of the day just like any of us could give. But for me I only go by the Edge magazine reviews so I don’t really give a **** what they say.

Personally, I dislike Gamespot's review. I am sorry if this affends anyone but they never really satisfied me. I am sorry but I think Kingdom Hearts is a better game than STar Fox Adventures.

Breath of Fire III: That game got a 6.9. Believe me, I have played this game before and I loved it. It rules. The characters and story are outstanding... It deserves better than a 6.9.

Tales of Destiny II: A 7.1. No way!

And there were many other games...

So what I am trying to say is that Blinx deserves what IGN gave it... I know it.

Gamespot's reviews have always befuddled me. They seem to only give a small percentage of good games the reviews that they deserve, and they give some piss poor games good reviews (Smackdown comes to mind). If they say a game is excellent, it usually is, but they also give a lot of quality games bad reviews for reasons I can't fathom.

Sorry to end the trend but I like Gamespot's reviews. Since they tell what to watch out for in games that got so overhyped. Eh just opinion

Guess that's what I should expect from a future jarhead....

So far I'm pretty impressed. The game gets sorts of maddening later on. The art design is peculiar but I dig it. Mostly because it reminds me of Nights. Worth a look....
