Zelda release date

The anticipated action RPG for the GameCube, The Legend of Zelda, has received its release date.

The game will be out on shelves just in time for the holidays. December 13 is the proposed ship date, but, oddly, the game still sports the name "Legend of Zelda" which is beginning to spark many rumors that this game is the rumored remake of the first Zelda, and that the version we saw at Space World is the sequel.

i think this is the japanese release, the article didnt specify

EDIT: I have just learned from my recent sources that this is in fact the japanese release, no surprise there...

Yeah, Gamespot says its the Japanese release.

Personally, I don't see how it could be a re-make of LoZ. I don't remember Link ever having a sister or there being a bird or anything in LoZ. If its a remake there are a lot of changes....

I think the only reason the rumor popped up that it's a remake is because

a: The cartoony graphics... "THEY ONLY MADE IT CARTOONY TO SORTA MIMIC THE CARTOONY GRAPHICS OF THE FIRST GAME!" (because all games looked cartoony back then)

b: "NO! CARTOONY GRAPHICS!? AAHH! IT MUST NOT BE THE NEW ZELDA GAME! IT HAS TO BE A REMAKE OR SOMETHING!"

Then again, the first Zelda didn't have much of a storyline to it except OH NO SAVE THE PRINCESS, they could have taken the same general levels, areas, and items, and added a bit more story-wise.... but I highly doubt that...

Or maybe they just don't have an official name for it yet... Orrrr maybe they're just like "Well the name we have decided on will could give people an idea of some story elements we don't want the public knowing yet, so we won't release the name yet"...

Or who knows? Maybe it will just be named "Legend of Zelda" even if it's not a remake... *shrugs*

Anyways, I figured it was the Japanese date when I heard it, but yeah whatever... At least it's coming out after Xmas, cuz I've had it pre-ordered since like April or something but won't actually be able to afford to pay for it until I get some money (like Xmas/Bday moneyz)
