Yeah the graphics are bizarre, but their consistent enough that one can dub them "stylized" everything in it is cube or has an edge. The sun and moon are both blocks with Sun and Moon-looking bitmaps on each side. Ditto the clouds. The whole environment of the game is established to sort of challenge you. And really, once you get into it and start playing it you'll see that this is about the best way to go with the blocky graphics and odd ball premise. It just, quite simply, "works." Amazingly well I might add.
Also don't walk in and rent it and expect it to be Mario, or Pokemon, or whatever the hell else 12-16 year olds expect a game to be on a Nintendo system (....wrestling would be my other guess). Its all purposeful and amazingly deep..... it serves almost more as a Zen meditative exercise than a straightforward sim about mauling block animals. Plus the the poop button is Z. And we all know how Nintendo demographic players like poop and poop-related humor. I want to see Nintendo put out more crazy **** like this. And less platformers with hot blue fox girl manimals (no offense to Star Fox Adventures

). Now only if Doshin the Giant makes it here.....
