Would you read...
...a writing lesson by me based on my fan fiction?
Here's the deal: people keep bothering me and asking how I write so well (even though I really do think my fanfics are junk) and how they can learn to write well too. I personally believe that I'm not the person to talk to if you want to learn how to write, but to please some people, I might write some posts about how to put together a story and develop a writing style using my fanfics as examples. Okay, so it also might get some people to read my junk, but believe it or not, I'm not plugging my fanfics this time.
So how about it? Would you like to learn how to make plot twists like the ones in my Perfect Dark fanfic? Or do you want me to just shut up about my damn fanfics already?
One last wrinkle: I'm thinking of putting such writing lessons in the Black Project Forum. The place needs something to liven it up, and if you're that desperate to read my stuff, it's not like it actually costs you anything to get access. Although strangely, Neo still doesn't seem to have docked my dbln count for my membership even though I've been there for many months now. Or maybe he just keeps giving me 100 dblns every month.

I don't think I'd read it. It's no offense to you at all, but, I generally like to keep my writing styles as fresh and as my own as possible.

Could your ego be any more out of control? I don't know who to pity more, those who would want your help or you for seeking this out.

I never said I was any good at writing. In fact, I said that I really think my stuff is junk. It's right there in the beginning post. But if people still want advice from me, I'm willing to give it.
And the reason I'm using my own work for examples is I actually wrote it and thus know exactly what's going on in every sentence. Plus, there's a reasonable chance that some people who read these writing lessons by me have also read my fanfic.
It's not all that egotistical. People who write books on style use their own writing as examples all the time. True, they don't often quote their own novels, but that's usually because they don't have any novels published.

Hmm... when I write something, I have most of the story in my head, and when I put it on paper, I come up with nice details and 'good' sentence structures.

What I meant is it doesn't cost actual money. A lot of people have nothing else to spend their doubloons on. It's your choice, though.
I haven't been keeping track of other people's doubloon counts. It just seems to me that the staff isn't making me pay for my access. Then again, like I said, it could just be that I earn 100 doubloons every month for my posts. I'd bother Neo about it, but I don't really feel like complaining about free access to a restricted forum.
Edit: Oh wait. Scratch all that. It looks like I have 2101 doubloons. I started out with 2401 when I retired. Looks like I really do get docked just like everyone else. Nice to know that someone is paying attention. Well, that means about a year and a half from now, I'm going to have to start making good posts to earn myself some doubloons if I want to stay on at the BPF.
