World Cup Fever?
With less than a week left until the WC starts, everybody's talking about it here. In the papers, on TV, in school, everywhere. I've even got a few friends who are betting that we will beat Brazil.
Then there's the competitions. Until about 3 weeks ago, there was a competition which got you tickets for the Brazil match. Another one, which ended about a month ago, gave away tickets for the China match.
Of course, the reason for this is because this is only our second time in he cup (the other one was in '54 - a little boy picked our name out of a hat ).
How's it in your country? Is it on everybdy's mind, or is it a "who cares" situation?
Oh, and there one more thing I have to say. Argentina's star, Ariel Ortega, has been transfered to Fenerbahce (I'm a FB fan, so I just had to say this). If you're intrested, click here.

Well I'm Cheering For Ireland
altho Roy Keane being sent home because his explosion about the training facilities didn't help our chances.
The Others that could and might win are Argentina, France Italy and England

Cause I want 'em to. I have faith!
Oh ya, and if you look at FIFA's work rankings, Germany is ahead of Ireland, and Britain. USA is ahead of Ireland for that matter.

Yea, they're tough. I always thought we would beat them, but the last two friendly games against Hong Kong and South Africa lowered my expectations (we beat HK 2-0 and lost 2-0 to SA).
I sure hope we do some good things.

Ok, you think the Fifa Rankings Mean Anything?
USA Doesn't deserve to be near the top 10.
They can't beat any top class european teams, the only reason they are that high is because they beat teams like Fiji and get points.
Fifa Rankings are so useless it's not funny, because if they were true, Ireland would probably be 2nd or 3rd,
They lost once in Qualifying, and it was the last game

Wahhhh!
We lost to Brazil 2-1
We scored the goal at the end of the first half, the 47th minute. But Ronaldo equalised at 52 or something. Then at the 87th min. the ref. gave a penalty to Brazil for a shirt pulling which was 2 yards outside the box. Rivaldo scored, and we lost
And one thing I have to add, the goal Cameroon scored had gone out of bounds a few passes before the ball reached goal. It should've been a throw in.

I saw that.
That definently wasn't a penalty.
