Default Wii U Nintendo Direct Jan 2013

I guess Nintendo felt the Wii U was off to a poor start because just delivered a bunch of content/announcements at a Nintendo Direct.

Virtual Console Stuff
NES, SNES, and GBA later
Gamepad Support confirmed.
Discounts for those who purchased games on the Wii VC.
(Sucks that you don't get games for free)

Stuff that was announced/updated without any footage
-New 3D Mario title in the works from the Galaxy team
-New Mario Kart in Development from the Mario Kart team
-Smash Bros isn't quite ready to be shown yet
-New Zelda from Zelda team.. is a way's off, but trying to re-think the fundamentals of the series

Stuff that was announced/updated with new footage
-The Wonderful 101 Got a New Trailer

-New LEGO City Undercover Trailer (technically came out yesterday!)

-Update/Intro to Bayonetta 2 Development team

-HD Remake of the Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker for this Fall

-New Yoshi Game from Good Feel Game (developers of Kirby's Epic Yarn)

-Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem crossover that I don't get

And newest title from Monolithsoft, which looks amazing

I'm sad to see the games won't be free for those who purchased the Wii version, but I can stomach $1/$1.50, especially since they are having to develop them from the ground up, and will support the gamepad.

They're also running that neat promotion where they are selling some NES games for .30 cents.

I'm pretty excited for the future of the Wii U right now though. New Yoshi, new Zelda eventually, new Mario kart on the horizon, a Xenoblade sequel.

This was an extremely loaded Nintendo Direct. It actually tops anything pretty much anyone has shown at E3 the last few years, heh.

Great Nintendo Direct, it actually felt like an Eł.

They're going to sell 2 SNES games for €0.30: Super Metroid and F-Zero!! Awesome deal.

The Wonderful 101 actually looks really...wonderful. The concept of controlling a whole group of heroes looks so fun. It's like a weird version of Pikmin.
