Alan Wake: the Thread of Magical Flashlight
Since folks mentioned this in SlyMoogle's Ps3 thread, and new preview/teaser is out, figured a thread to discuss the game.
You can say a lot about this game, but one thing you can't deny is it looks good.

The teaser video.

Looks like a weeklong thing, with possible release date on Friday.

Yeah I'm not sure it will actually be a good game, but it's fucking gorgeous that's for sure.

Hm the faces look like plastic. And the environments don't look much better than HL2's in those screenshots.

I'm certainly looking forward to getting my hands on this next week - one of the few titles that we get before you guys
I've been hearing that the narrative and game play lend themselves well to an incredibly creepy experience... definitely one to play in the dark :P

Really looking forward to this. I'm a big Stephen King fan, and love that this knowingly emulates his kind of 'horror'. This is going to be great.
And between this and RDR, ohman. Great week

Re: Alan Wake: the Thread of Magical Flashlight
Wow... Ok.
This game.
I just wanted to put it in to play like a few minutes to see if it was decent.
Let's just say I haven't taken it out since. I'm on Episode 3. I have no idea how long it will be, but I've put around 3 hours in so far. God damn it's honestly a lovely little game. You can tell they put a lot of care into it.
I also cannot wait to get the soundtrack.
The only thing I can tell you is that if you do get the game do not read the manuscript pages as they often give away secrets to the game that you probably don't want to know. My plan is to find and read them all once I complete the game.

So it's better than Dragon Age?

Oh yeah it's totally better than dragon age.
This is probably the best Survival Horror game ever. That ending man... Crazy.
